Daycare Woes

I just received our end of year tax form from our daycare / school and it has laid out the entire years costs.  Dear Lord I almost had a heart attack when i saw the total.  I know i pay a lot but i think its best not to show it to me as one big number!!!

Come on Kindergarten!!!!  I think i might be throwing a big bash at our house with the savings or taking a European vacation

Do you have colleges near you too?  A lot of colleges (and churches which was suggested already) have daycare through Early Childhood learning so that may be another option. (since I'm a jerk who didn't help in my first my reply!)

I was talking to a coworker about this a few months ago.    She uses a daycare a local college, it allows the early education students an opportunity to practice with real kids verses just teaching to their peer before going out on their student teaching assignments.  she has been very happy taking both of her kids there.

a lot of the girls at my son's school come from the local university to work as aids in his classroom.  that university doesn't have a daycare though but they are a great source for babysitters.  so maybe if that is case by you, you could find one to "poach" via care.com or as they would have the same experience and be eager to apply their skills to the real world so it might be a win win for until if that would suffice until they are kindergarten age..
