mri? update

did anyone here have to go for a fetal mri?
cuz i have to and i'm not looking forward to it....never had an mri before....
the anatomy scan showed something that they're not sure what it is or of it's a "variation of normal"
they explained it to the mri dr and he said he's seen it before and that imaging these days is getting better and showing more things but I should come in anyway to rule out blood clot even though they are all pretty sure it's nothing
i buy they're lack of concern about it being anything....i'm just not looking forward to the actual thing
and ya know even though they all say it's nothing and i believe it, there's still a chance....

I haven't experienced this either but just sending T&P for you and baby! Seems like it's all good but keep us updated!

I haven't experienced it myself but as a nurse we sit in them often.  The biggest complaint from patients is that they are loud.  Sometimes you get earbuds or some music put in to drown out the bang bang noise.  Obviously they are a giant magnet so you will have to go through a huge checklist asking you about any metal in your body.  They take longer than other scans but are way more detailed.  I hope that it ends up just being precaution and everything turns out normal.

Never had a fetal MRI but I've had a few Mri's for myself. Exactly what pp said - they are somewhat loud and a little intimidating, but no pain or discomfort. The worst for me was sitting still. Fx all is ok and they rule out everything bad!

thanks everyone! my apt is in a couple of hours and i'm getting really anxious...i don't want to do it at all....and not bc i'm worried about the results..i just don't want to do it

and i forgot what they said about eating and so i don't know what to do bc i'm getting hungry lol

and i have hoop earrings in that i got done at a body piercing place and i can't get them out without like, pliers and so i know i'll never get them back in  

is it wrong i'm bummed about my earrings?

so just got home from picking up dinner and sophia.....the mri wasn't as bad as i feared just took a while....maybe over an hour?
i was afraid i would be in an enclosed tube but the top of my head and my feet were out...
so she kept telling me to take a breath and then hold it and not to breathe....so after the 3rd time i'm all i understand what hold your breath means....so we go on and she tells me again to hold my breath and this time try not to breathe.....and it kinda annoyed me bc i wasn't breathing! then she said good job just like that! and lou could hear the whole thing....ugh i was annoyed!
so finally done then have to go for an ultrasound and then the radiologist came in and looked at some things
so turns out everything is ok....just a "variant of normal" and he's seen it before and it's ok....just that on us everything shows up white and cloudy and the mri can distinguish between blood clot or not...
so soph's little sibling is ok! and I was worried for naught and now to put my earrings back in! i didn't even take them all out for my wedding!

Just saw this post since I've been MIA on the board for a week or so. I'm sooooo glad everything is good with your LO!! I'm sure it was scary and caused a lot of worry. HOpefully the rest of your pregnancy will be smooth!
