Babies: 3 - 6 Months

yeast rash

My DD is 3.5 months and has had rashes and on and off but mostly on. She was prescribed Nystatin for yeast and that didnt appear to work. Dr. gave us a different prescription to try today but I am curious what has been recommended to you for yeast in the vaginal area.

Re: yeast rash

  • I used a cotton ball soaked in a mix of apple cider vinegar and water after every diaper change, let her air dry and then slathered on aquafor for DD's yeast rash. It cleared up within 48 hrs.

  • We just used regular lotramin foot creme. It is an anti fungal and works like a charm. I have used it with both girls for different reasons. My first had one nasty rash that ended up being a yeast rash. I nursed that rash for 4 days and finally found lotramin. It was almost completely gone within a few hours. With my second DD we used it in the fold of her neck. She had a very chubby neck and the folds would hold moisture and spit up. It would occasionally get irritated and the lotramin would clear it right up.
