OP you can trim his nails since I assume you don't wamt to get him declawed that may help a little. You can use regular dog nail clippers. I actually feel cat claws are a lot easier to trim. I had a cat that would occasionally act naughty and what worked as a punishment for her was separation. She was fine with water but hated being locked away from her family. My current kitty is the same way. But my cats have all acted like dogs too.
I have two. One is super sweet and only really is in your face if you forget to feed her or she wants treats. But the other. We rescued her at 10 days old and j truly believe she doesn't know she's a cat. The only person she'll listen to is me. If she gets mad she'll attack my husband's ankles or beat up our other cat. At night it's like it's her time to explore and anything on any counter she will find and knock down. She has anxiety problems and we can't even close our door because she will claw the carpet up if she can't see us. My husband was gone for training for a few months so she decided she liked his side of the bed. Now I sleep on one side my husband sleeps in middle and she naps on the other side and if he accidentally rolls over while sleeping she'll bite him. She also has stomache problems and requires te most expensive freakig food or she throws up everyday. She won't let friends and family sit on our couch. She grows and hisses at them. I guess the point of this is to say my cat is a major ass too and after two years of trying to change her we have just realized she's not going to no matter how many times we try to train her. Cats are just weird.
Bottle fed kittens are usually assholes. Don't really know why that is the case but it usually rings true something about not having a cat momma makes them holy terrors.

We trim them every couple weeks. He's seriously just a menace. Thanks for the suggestion though!

My cat can be a pain especially at night. He climbs on our headboard and swats at the blinds of the windows, and he claws the bed skirt to wake me up.
We usually put him out in the hall when he does that and close the door. I think it's because he wants attention because he doesn't act out during the day.
I would agree with others for all their ideas: more scratchers, soft paws, and more play before bed. Although this sounds simple, when I open the blinds and drapes so he can sit on the ledge he is very happy. I think he just likes to look outside sometimes.
Also, mine really likes to be brushed which makes him calm and relaxed. I would recommend getting a soft brush and when you get in to bed (if he sleeps with you) brush him and maybe it will help him relax.
As for the biting, when does it occur? during playing? Just randomly? while he's eating? That might help figure out why he is doing it.
GL! I know kitties can be hard to train sometimes, but they can be loving too!
Edit: oops! I just realized I'm not on my BMB. sorry! I hope you don't mind my extra kitty advice!

I'm so glad you posted this! I was JUST scolding my little feline for attempting to make out with my ear lobes in the morning. And when I roll over, after tossing and turning all night, she insists on scratching at my mattress -_- even though I've bought her scratch pad after scratch pad. I've even tried the water trick. She waits for my blood pressure to rise, for me to turn around and get comfortable. Then BAM! At it again .. aside from that, she's fucking adorable.
You should try nail caps; they are painless, relatively easy to put/glue them on, and work miracles. All three of my cats wear them, and they can't scratch or hang on a damn thing with the caps on.
Mine had been gone a year, but from the day we got him until he died he was a real a hole. He never messed with the kids and was scared of them, but he was a total terror.
Definitely HAD an asshole cat! He pee'd on everything the moment he sensed I was pregnant. After 10 years of his crazy antics, the pissing sent me over the hill, my hormonal self couldn't take it anymore. I took him to the humane society my 10th week. RIP Pepper:(
