Community?

I'm new here, and I am sure to get flack for this... honestly Idc at this point. I had the baby center app first, and then found this one also. You ladies are MEAN! Sometimes when you have a question, you do not want to scroll through so many hundreds of posts on a generic "symptom" board. While some questions are ridiculous, there is no need for the hateful and mean spirited way that some questions are answered. If you don't like the post, skip by it and don't say anything! This "community" board has so disappointed me. You ladies claim to be a community when all you do is tear people down. Go back to high school with your gifs and your hurtful rude comments. Not everyone has time to read an entire symptoms board.

its okay, this is a typical first trimester board where everyone is freaking out and getting upset over literally nothing. By second trimester, things will hopefully be calmer. But I agree, this is a rather grumpy group. My May 2012 board wasnt even half this bad even in 1st trimester!

Just like you don't want to waste your time scrolling through threads to find an answer to your questions, i don't want to waste my time answering tons of the same silly questions.

But i believe the Babycenter moms don't mind answering the same question over and over and over so feel free to go ask them your questions!

Nope. Im not freaking out or getting upset over nothing. And things usually get better when all the people with the repetitive questions and the white knights move along.

It seems a bunch of you ladies have done this before. Which is great for first time moms. We can ask you guys for experienced answers and put our mind at ease when we are scared to death of getting through our first trimester after miscarriages and fertility treatments. Oh just kidding. This gal has a point and she's not the first to notice. I don't post as much in the August forum because you aren't supportive or helpful at all. Just because you've been through pregnancy before that's great. Not everyone can be as experienced and get pregnant on their first try and make it past their first trimester everytime. So no I'm not asking for support. You ladies have proved to me that I won't get that here. Amazingly enough I get more support from my pistol packing second amendment group than a bunch of mommies. You ladies are just a bunch of children who have nothing better to do than troll this page and make fun of the next poor soul who asks something they don't understand. Bye Felicia!

I'm a first timer and don't feel this way at all.  I've not been here long, but there's support. (I was part of TK before here, different name- so I'm familiar with these parts).  The thing is? You have to give in order to get. That's kinda how life works. Not just this forum. It's the same here. Participate, join in, give. And you'll get back.

I've found everyone to be supportive and helpful. Not quite as much as the fertility group I was in, but so far I'm happy. Just a little unfortunate that a few of you aren't upset to hear Felicia doesn't feel like she's a part of the community and now this board is bully central. Hopefully the group outside this board won't try to shame me and kick me out the way you did to Felicia and may do to me here.

First time mom here and not feeling put out at all by these ladies. I also didn't get pregnant first try either, took 7 years. If you knew about some of these ladies you would also realize that many have had several pregnancies but no take home baby as of yet. So maybe you learn the community you're in before you start to trash it. I'm still pretty new myself, but hell it didn't take long to figure out how it works. This place isn't Google, we can't make personal decisions for you, but if you want honest and (mostly) intelligent conversation then you'll enjoy your time. Also cat gifs.

So what your saying is everyone here his been pregnant before, got pregnant on their first try, and all have their take home babies? Uh nope. It seems you haven't taken the time to try and get to know anyone. 

This is not google. We aren't people's personal answering service, we are people. There is no reason for there to be the same repetitive posts. People should take the time to learn how this place works, and not use the people here. There is a search engine feature on the board, and there are threads that are posted all the time for people to actually READ.

Andplusalso, there is a lot of support on here, but you give to get. Have you checked out the spotting thread? Or perhaps someone waiting in limbo? Maybe an introduction? Remedies thread? There are positive things all over the place. If you actually took the time to learn the board you would know this. However, if you ask if your boyfriend having a dream about a snake is going to result in harm to your child, you probably will not see the most supportive answers.

This was exactly the point of my post. Instead of bullying, the point was to show that not everyone feels welcome. They all claim to be a community, but as as soon as something is said they don't like, they react like this.

So you generalize everyone on the board, tell us how to act, and then get defensive when called on it. Sounds to me like this isn't the place for you.

@ittybittybaker09‌ i don't understand the need for your post. I am a grown woman. If i don't like what people are saying or doing I just leave. I wouldn't feel the need to say or do anything. No one is claiming to be a community. The community begins when the people who understand what this forum is about are left to collaborate.

Seriously, within a week or 2 of "joining" the August 15 group, I've had two major medical crises. The first one (the thyroid cyst) happened within days of arriving here. I've received nothing but support from everyone I've encountered on here, including some of the people you've directly called out in this clusterfuck of a thread.

I'm sorry that you think part of being a grown up is being coddled, patted on the head, and fed canned responses when asking stupid questions. Truly, I'm sorry. I'd hate to be so naive. It must be rough.

I, for one, am really sorry to hear Felicia doesn't feel like part of the community.
