NTTCALR: Ugly Christmas Sweater

Some close friends of ours are having an Ugly Christmas Sweater party on Christmas Eve.  I don't think I currently own anything that would qualify.  Are there any stores that might sell an acceptable option?  Do you think small boutique-type places might sell them?

You might try Amazon. They should be able to ship to you by Christmas Eve.


You could also make your own. You can do wonders with a glue gun

My mom threatened to pull out a pattern from the 80s for a beaded/appliqued/be-ribboned Christmas sweater to make for me this year to wear completely unironically for the holiday season. She has like 50 of them and couldn't understand why I wouldn't want one. Um...I am not a retired school teacher pushing 60, that's why.

I'm pretty sure there is a family photo somewhere from my childhood with everyone wearing something pretty close to what you just described.

I wear my moms old sweaters from teaching elementary school.  She has since retired but has a wardrobe bench full of them that is a gold mine.  At first she felt bad/embarrased for me using them as a tacky Christmas party outfit but four or five years later she is used to it. lol  My DH found a onesie pajama santa suit at Target that he wore for a party this past weekend!

I bought this at Sam's Club. They had a few other options too. I'm wearing it on Thursday.

We have ugly holiday sweater day at school tomorrow. It's awesome and we even have a contest for whose is the best lol! They do it every year here. I made my own

We had a tacky contest at my office today and a coworker wore a tree skirt over her denim, got battery powered lights and wrapped them around her torso, and wore a huge bow on her head. It was pretty adorable.
