I listen to just about everything...I almost always have music playing (or am playing/singing something myself). The kids are out with the grandparents and DH is keeping me company while I work from home so at the moment we're blasting Metallica.
I am 1DAF, but when I come up for air I've been listening to Hozier and Ben Howard quite a bit. I'm looking forward to Fall Out Boy's new album, since DH and I both like their music.
Classical and traditional folk. Lots of Baroque music; I love Bach and Monteverdi in particular. Handel too. I also like the 19th and 20th century Russian composers. But I listen to any classical, really. I guess I don't love Aaron Copland.
I listen to oodles of trad. Obscure contra dance bands and trad acapella....here ya go, these are friends of mine and I love them!!
I'm completely obsessed with 'boy and bear' specifically the song 'three headed woman' but the whole album is good. I'm also really digging a band called Frightened Rabbit.
I like indie/folk/alternative music mostly. What is now considered hipster music...but I've liked this style before hipster was a real word :-)
Re: Music: past, present, and future.
Hoping DH is getting me the Taylor Swift cd for Christmas.
I edited it just for @luxannie.
