Non-Clicky Poll: Secret Santa Gift

We have our work Secret Santa exchange next Monday, and I'm, as usual, stressing out about it.

I pulled the name of another director I know semi-well (I actually used to supervise her for a hot minute before she moved into her current position). So I'm not really up on her beverage preferences the way I would be with someone I know better.

The tea shop that I LOVE has some of their mugs on sale today. I was thinking of getting a mug and a sample of the loose leaf tea for her, but I'm not sure if she likes tea!

So I ask F14... would you like one of these mugs, or is tea not a universal gift?

Re: Non-Clicky Poll: Secret Santa Gift

  • Do you know people who work with her more closely that might know if she's a tea drinker? I think the mugs are cute and in a secret santa thing like that, I wouldn't expect to always get a super personal gift but more of "the thought that counts" kind of thing anyway. Worst case, she hates tea and re-gifts it to someone else.

  • The mugs are cute, but I don't think tea is a universal gift. I would use the mug for coffee/cocoa, but I'd probably throw out the tea (because I don't even know anyone to regift it to).

  • Tea is definitely not universal...I hate tea. Maybe cocoa instead?
  • Ditto @mummypig and @shellbell3845 As a non tea-drinker, I would probably enjoy the mug, but the tea would probably get tossed, because I also don't know anyone who is a regular tea-drinker. I would be more likely to do a mug with hot chocolate (they have some fancy flavors out there).

  • Thanks, ladies. I'm going to try and check with someone in her current dept to see if she's a tea drinker, but good to know it's not a universal. I'll proceed with caution. ;-)
