LO woke to eat at 6:20, so that means I won't pump before work. So the fact that I've been in bed 10 extra minutes is nbd, right?

Nope I can't believe the favors weren't diamond stud earrings shaped like baby bottles... #fail they were these delicious chocolate chip cookies from a local baker... So I was ok with it I guess...

I wore a blue maxi dress with a cardigan. My sisters in laws all wore little black dresses... I didn't get the memo... but there was an assortment of.outfits ranging from dark.jeans, to cocktail.dresses... So I fell somewhere in the middle...

I can't imagine wearing a lbd to a baby shower...but I also can't imagine putting my baby in Burberry.

Are you worried about the inch past indecency? If so, opaque black tights would help the decency level. (I have to do that with a couple of my work outfits.) If it makes you look hot (ow ow!!) I'd say a fun color!! I like the cranberry color idea. You wouldn't even need matching jewelry if that's too much pressure because the tights would be the statement.

Thank you guys!! I'm kind of out of control lately with the outfits. She recently went up a size so I'm having a field day with all her new options. And the Elf outfit was a consignment store find! $3.00!

I know it sounds crazy, right? I have been reading up on it and talked to a local mom whose 7m old is potty trained. I couldn't decide if I thought it was absolutely crazy or genius.

Yeah that is why I was like, wait, what? It is partly elemination communication (which can sometimes mean the parent is taking the LO to sit on the toilet every hour). It is a big commitment on the parent's part for sure! And the parent has to be pretty in tune to the "tells" especially in the younger babies. C is starting to use the ASL sign for "more" and "all done" pretty consistently so it piqued my interest. But I am not sure I want to commit to potty stuff yet. So that is why I came to see here.

Thanks for all of the support/T&P last night for FIL, and thanks for asking about him this morning @TyrannosaurusLex. He has a compression fracture in his L4 vertebra, but there is nothing they can do for him other than pain meds because he has osteoporosis (so I guess surgery isn't an option). MIL doesn't drive, so I've made myself on-call if she needs anything since I'm home for a few weeks and live so close by.

No snark, just hard to convey this on the Internet without it sounding that way - what part isn't elimination communication? EC followers definitely rely on ASL for the "communication" aspect.

@tlex I am a SAHM. I work part-time after bed time/during nap time. But even as I am thinking about it, I know I will not attempt anything until at least after Christmas craziness. There is just no way. (If I attempt anything. Still figuring things out over here.)

I didnt take it as snark. You are right, it is EC, especially for that 7m old. I just worded it really poorly. (Still reading, learning, asking questions.) Is it no longer considered EC but actual potty training once they can walk and take themselves?

@JoyBaby5 What flooring did you decide on? Do you have a pic? Also, what types of things would you be wearing those moccasins with? I'm curious because they're cute but I've never seen anyone around here wear them. Maybe I need them too!

I'm super excited, I just bought DS a Power Wheels car for his birthday. DH and I both always wanted one as kids but never got one, so we're fulfilling the desires we had as children through our kid. \:D/ 

Now if I lose 14 pounds I'd be right at the max weight limit to drive it...

We think we did this too on Sunday night.  I hope we did becuse it gives me hope that if sleep training doesn't work, at least I can still get some sleep.

What the heck, I just realized after reading the holiday card thread that we haven't received a single card in the mail!  The whoe reason I sent out Thanksgiving day cards was so I got mail at Christmas!!
