Realized I left my set of car keys in my car yesterday since we were out together as a family. Contacted husband and said "I need you to come home on lunch and unlock my car so I can get the keys"
Attempt to open the door of the car that I think is LOCKED and omg!! Car was not locked keys are on the floor. Well crisis averted.
@somerandomchick I let Haddy use a regular spoon but I haven't given him a regular fork, yet. He does well with his baby utensils and I'm cool with that. He'd probably love a regular fork though!
Morning ladies. Busy weekend for us so I wasn't on much. I lurked more than posted. We saw Santa and bought a tree. I was not feeling it this year so we got a table top tree. It's 4 feet tall I think. It's real though so that's something. We also deep cleaned and rearranged our living room and I like it so much better now.
However, Saturday night Isaac was having a stuffy nose sleep issue and kept waking up because he couldn't breathe. I ended up sleeping upright on the couch so he would be elevated. Talk about miserable. Last night I elevated his mattress and he slept fine. He also gave me his germs and I did the neti pot for the first time last night. Holy moly that works. I'm a believer now.
Does seeing this displayed as normal grown up food weird anyone else out? It's like seeing baby bottles in the water section...
Where else would Starbucks put them? I appreciate that they have options for little kids too.
We have been at several restaurants that offer pouches too. It was nice to see recently at an Ethiopian restaurant...in case Vinny didn't eat our food we knew they offered an option. Starbucks has them and I like seeing that in airports too when sometimes its difficult to pack for LO. I like it
Morning ladies! ~O) Our weekend was go, go, go. I barely had time to even lurk. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Sorry to all the mamas experiencing public meltdowns. We had our first about 3 weeks ago in the grocery store and I was definitely given judgey looks.
So, does anyone else's kid think it is funny to gag themselves? Over the past few days DS thinks this is hilarious, even if it results in him throwing up. Of course my first reaction is to try to stop him from doing it by either telling him 'no' or trying to pull his hand out of his mouth. Now I'm worried that because I had a reaction to it is why he thinks this is so funny. Ugh, I hope he gets over it soon. It totally freaks me out!
DD has been doing this for awhile now only in her car seat and it has resulted in throwing up two to three times now. It sucks. I'm not sure what to do either. Lately I've been sitting in the back with her to pull her hand out of her mouth and say no and hand her a toy to distract her. It doesn't work when I'm driving obviously. I really hope she stops soon.
Over Thanksgiving, FIL made so many weird jokes about feeding the gherkin her allergens or handling her allergens in a careless way. It really pissed me off. It's not like we do this stuff for fun. It's serious and we take it seriously. She'd be eating and he'd say "oh I put eggs in that ha ha ha". WTF. Her egg and peanut levels are very unusually high so this is scary shit. So annoying.
>:D< Hello friends! I've been doing a work project that's cut into my bumping time and I feel behind. There's a Santa parade coming by my house tonight collecting donations of food and toys, it's always so fun so I'm excited about it and the older kids are coming over for dinner so that's good too. I hope everyone has a good day! I need to send out my secret Santa gift for my j13 friend!

No but wait... I think they're for adults? @econmama
Don't mind me. I'll just be over here bawling my eyes out. This was our Bass Pro and I wish we had gone yesterday instead of Saturday now. I would have loved to see this in person.
I'd be livid and probably pretty blunt with him about what could happen to her if she were to eat peanuts or eggs, and then ask him if he thinks it would be funny to see her not be able to breathe.
Definitely have done this. He wouldn't actually give her allergens - he likes to taunt me because it's his sense of humor. I don't usually mind aside from this issue because harm befalling my sweet gherkin is not funny. He didn't actually give her eggs it was his "joke" in case that wasn't clear.
@stephyfaith My dh thinks our kids are twins. A few months ago when you posted some pics of your Lo at a wedding in a purple dress, I was scrolling through and looking at them. Dh was sitting beside me and he said "those are cute pics of Lily. Where did that dress come from, I haven't seen it before?" And I said "well, that's not Lily..... She belongs to this couple in this photo...." And just now I was reading a spam thread from a couple days ago and he looked at your Siggy pic and went "aww little Lily, she's so cute." )
If MIL sends me another email about BF & NIP then I am signing her up for porn. Well, I wouldn't really, but I will block her email again. I've already explained that "my breasts & my decision" & that we are letting weaning happen naturally.
This "find something else to comfort him" & "don't do that in public" is making me ragey.
"He can eat food!" "Why not just give him a bottle instead?"
"Don't you think he's too old?"
MIL, I've outright told her that it's not her business, problem or commentary. SHUT THE FUCK UP WOMAN. :-w
Hi mamas. The plague has hit us. Both kids have influenza A. Wtf. It was caught early enough with Jack so they put him on Tamiflu but my poor Brynners Praying this doesn't turn into pneumonia for her like last winter.
DH and I are running on empty so all four of us are about to go down for a nap.
Anyone have a germ repellent, Lysol infused, protective bubble for us?
Boiled water & Clorox everything all to hell at the end of the night. All the fluids! Bone broth or veggie broth. Gah! Take a great nap y'all. Go away plague!!!
Oh my @primrosemama. I am so sorry you have to hear that constantly. You deserve a medal for putting up with her!
I'd take the medal & I feel really really bad for DH. It's not like MIL can celebrate our PT & speech wins for Abby. No no...she has to start in with how we are all fat, miracle diets blah blah blah.
FFS, she asked a cancer survivor if all his weight loss was "on purpose". JFC he went through chemo! So we should all follow the same diet because he lost weight. She's conveniently ignored the life threatening condition thing.
And because Alex is our little silent monk it must mean I suck at parenting. I actually told her she could go fuck herself & excused myself to go get coffee out of the house. The rest of the visit was icy & they left without staying the night. I like FIL but MIL is just such a fuckwit.
Her lack of basic humanity makes me crazy. I cannot believe she thinks/says this shit & doesn't even care/register that it might be very hurtful. In her mind "you need to hear it" because it's her way that is the only way for a happy, successful life.
My husband told her to stop but she just doesn't get it. He was very happy to see them go, but I feel awful for him because his mom is so critical & negative to him all the time.
I cannot recall one nice thing she has said to him in the last five years. That's fucked up, dude.
So sorry about the sickies @lizabethann06 that sucks! @PrimRoseMama I just can't fathom how your mil continues to be so insensitive after telling her so many times. Like can she not hear? I just don't get it :-/
Rant: someone at my office frequently heats up some veggies in the microwave that STINK. The smell lingers for hours and is pretty gross.
Said co-worker knows these veggies stink but keeps bringing them in.
I wish we had some don't-bring-nasty-smelling-food-to-the-office policy.
That is such a pet peeve of mine! I work from home, but back when I had to work in an office I had a coworker who would always reheat fish in the microwave. That never smells good and lingers forever!
@lizabethann06 Oh no!! I am so sorry. I really hope all of you feel better soon.
@simone711 Ugh. We have someone that pops popcorn every.single.day. The smell of the fake butter makes me want to hurl. We did have someone that would heat up fish too, but she retired in May.
I have one present left to buy that MH suddenly has an opinion on. Just let me buy the freaking thing so I can say that we are done Christmas shopping!!!

Someone on May15 is bitching about mothers nursing in public without a cover. FFS. Its taking everything in me to not bitch her out more than I already did.
I'm just gonna leave this here. Taking care of a sick LO isn't how I imagined or planned my vacation this week. Such is life, right? After screaming in protest from getting her nose suctioned out, she's down for a nap. And I'm enjoying some peace and quiet with a hot mug of mango tea and some treats. Oh, what's that on my plate, you ask? Just @casey78's world famous almond pizelles and peanut butter ball. No big.
