Baby station in office & pack n play questions

I'm getting ready to return to work part time next week, with the baby. She'll be going to daycare in January, but will still probably be I the office with me occasionally. I don't want to spend much on baby gear, especially gear that LO will outgrow soon, because money is pretty tight right now. I was thinking I need a pack n play, a bouncey seat, and maybe a playmat (luckily my office is pretty large). What do you all think? Any recommendations for a bouncey seat? We've only used a swing and rock n play at home.

Also I never even looked into getting a pack n play because our house is so small, so I have some questions. Does anyone know whether there is a weight limit on pack n play changing station? Could I get away with using one without a changing station and just changing the baby on the infant level? Also, do you have to buy additional gear with the pack n play, like mattress or sheets?

Any other tips for those who have worked with baby would be appreciated!

Re: Baby station in office & pack n play questions

  • I'm also going to be bringing lo to work with me and am curious to hear what others have to say.

We use the pack n play changing station at home and I believe the weight limit is 15 pounds. It also isn't that great as it slopes to one side.

I've taken lo in a couple times so far and he loves laying on a blanket on the floor just staring around the room. So for me so far I'm sure I'll have a dedicated play mat for there as well as a pack n play for naps.

  • LO will probably weigh 15 lbs in another month, so it's probably not worth the money to buy one with a changing station at this point.

@pbeckaroo35‌ any idea what you will use to change your LO on after he outgrows the changing station? I could always put my LO on my desk, but I often keep stacks of papers piled and would rather have a spot that I don't have to rearrange things for every diaper change.
  • I just lay a receiving blanket down, folded in half under her bottom, in the pack n play to change my DD's diaper and then take the blanket out when she sleeps.

  • I can see using the bassinet level like @rkang01, but when they outgrow that I'm not sure.

  • A playmat is great, my LO loves her infantino playmat. Before she wouldn't stay on it for long before getting fussy.it Mow she's showing more interest in the toys/mirror and is working on her motor skills.

    I think its 15/lbs

  • You can totally get away with using the infant level of the pack n play to change your LO. I would just use a separate receiving blanket or pad of some kind to lay down to change on top of that can be removed for naps. You don't need to buy a separate mattress for the PNP. They do have certain sheets for the PNP. It would be handy to have a couple. An activity mat and bouncy seat or travel swing would also be helpful.
