Scary evening

I just got home from our local ER (which is an awful, awful facility but I was terrified). I am lost and confused. I started having some bleeding this afternoon (after sex) which led me to think "okay this could be normal". But after a few hours it got worse with bright red and a lot of cramping. We decided to go to ER. After sitting in the ER for 2 hours and watching about 5 people with colds get taken in before me, my husband flipped his shit a little and they took me in. They did an internal ultrasound and exam and said there was a heartbeat but it looked weak. They put the Doppler on and listened and I have yet to hear my baby's heartbeat yet because I don't have an appt until next Wednesday. The doctor looked at me and asked me if it sounded the same as I had heard previously and I explained that I had not yet been to an appt where that was an option since my first appt was at 8 weeks but I had seen it. He told me that it could be a potential loss but currently there was still a heartbeat-it just sounded weak and basically told me to rest and prepare, and sent me on my way. I called my OB's after hours and am still waiting to hear back. I am afraid because i know (now from experience) the staff there are pretty negligent and not very good. I hope my ob will see me asap and be able to tell me what is actually going on. I don't like the idea of "preparing" so I'm trying to stay positive.

I'm 11 weeks and admittedly have a little cushion myself (before pregnancy). I just heard back from after hours and they asked me way more questions than the ER and told me to continue to monitor bleeding. It hasn't increased but it's not less either. They told me I could drive in to see my Ob who is on call tonight in the other hospital, so that is what we are going to do. They also told me to never go to the ER I went to because they shouldn't even still be running (yikes).

I am overwhelmed by all of your love and support! My OB is currently delivering another baby but he took a few seconds to pop in and say he would be in as soon as possible. The nurses have me set up on the monitor and I can hear the heartbeat right now so that is very hopeful. I'm so happy to have a wonderful OB and the support of you all who were strangers but have become an awesome little community to interact with and share this journey.

Good! Just popped on to check for an update. Thinking of you! Hoping that baby is delivered soon so the doc can come give you good news! For now, focus on that heartbeat!

So sorry you are goinb through this. Your doctor that saw you sounds incompetent to ask about what you thought about the heartbeat. T&P are with you...take care. Rest well and i hope everything will be okay.

Well still scary but good to know. I had a LEEP procedure about 5 years ago due to cancerous cells and all had been well since then. I will be here over night and my OB is going to be putting in a cervical stitch due to cervical incompetence. It will stay there until 37 weeks but I've been upgraded to high risk and am going to be out for the count for about 2 weeks due to the procedure. Baby is fine-dr. couldn't understand why they thought heartbeat was weak due to the fact he was stating we were at about 165 strong since I've been monitored tonight. Baby was even wiggling around in there on screen. I'm so impressed with my OB and their promptness in figuring this all out.
Again I am so happy to have all of you guys! I don't have many close friends who have experienced pregnancy as I am the first out of the group of my friends, so it's so nice to have people who are going through the same thing and genuinely care :-)
