Flameworthy: What safety rules (if any) do you disregard?

  • Oh, I forgot to add one: we have a toy bar on the carseat.  The chance of me driving us into a ditch because DS will not.stop.screaming seemed much higher than the chance that we get into an accident where the upright carseat handle causes issues.

  • Here's my list:

    Toybar on the carseat

Blankets, stuffed toys in the PNP

I move her over to sleep with me (and the dog) after her 7am feeding after DH leaves for work.

I run with her in The Bob

    She watches Baby Einstein videos

I rarely put a hat on her head

I think it's cute when the dog licks her

I'm sure there are more...but the above list is enough to make MIL crazy. :)

  • I don't strap in LO in his swing, but he's not active/squirmy yet.  He also sleeps in his swing.

His sleep sheep is strapped to a corner of his crib, and I sometimes cover just his legs with a blanket.  He also has a water proof lap cover under his head in the crib.

Sometimes we bed share.  He will fall asleep after a burping, and stay on my shoulder.  I can usually lie down, but can't sleep well w/11lbs of baby on my chest.  So I doze while cradling him on my chest - with him on his tummy.

I unapologetically bedsare with no intention of stopping anytime soon. I get a lot of side eye from people IRL, but my baby has been STTN since 3 weeks old so I get the last laugh... I should add that I've done a ton of research on the subject and I strongly dissagree with the bedsharing naysayers.

    YesYes

LO sleeps attached to my boob all night and nurses when hungry. I don't move a muscle when I sleep and I think bedsharing is beneficial to infants.
