Expecting baby #3 and we are team green.
Having a hard time with names- DH is a school administrator and associates so many names with former/current students.
We both like the name Dax for a boy but feel like it should be a nn for a longer name. Any ideas? All I can think of is Daxton.

Daxton is all I can find...

I like Dax, if you like it then I'd just stick with it instead of trying to find a longer version just for the sake of length

^ I agree! I like dexter way more than Dax. It sounds odd.

Or maybe Dashiell (spelling?), nn Dash? Or Paxton/Pax? NMS but preferable to Dax or Daxton IMO

Daxton is so bad. If you MUST, I'd just use Dax, but I'd prefer one of the alternates listed above. Dexter is good. Also love the suggestions of Cedric, Griffin, and Rhys.

I love Dexter, nn Dex. DH didn't like it, or our son might very well have been named that.

Also, Dax Sheppard wasn't on Jackass, he was on Punked, which is only slightly better, but still better. (@ugotstarbucked)

I like Dax... maybe because I like Dax Shepard  I do not like Daxton.  Don't make up a name just to force it.  If you like Dax, use it.

If you like Dax, name your kid Dax. It reminds me of the Deep Space 9 character, but that's not a bad thing in my world. :P Daxton sounds made up and silly. 

Dexter and Ajax are cute too if you want a slightly more traditional name (but only ever so slightly).

I do like Dax. It was the name of a character in a book that I really enjoyed, and I've liked it ever since. However, I can see why it would feel incomplete, but I don't like Daxton at all. It would probably be more of a GP name for me, but if you really like it, I would just use it.

I have a Dax and he gets compliments on his name all the time. Keep it short and sweet. And if you love it, use it!
