Please for the love of cinnamon toast crunch not this crap again.
Haha. I see you haven't had your cinnamon toast crunch yet
I had 2 giant bowls for dinner last night! It was awesome until I realized the milk made me sick because it was expired lol it sucked.
Ewwww! Just reading about the expired milk made me gag!
It didn't look gross or smell so that's why I was surprised it was 1% milk and I never feel sick when drinking that. And I started to so I went back and looked and it was. I'm very weird about expired things for some reason, I will not touch if it's a day expired. Something from my childhood scarred me lol.

I'm exactly the same way about expired things! Sometimes I won't even use milk that's within its date if I think it's been open too long (5-7 days is my cutoff).

Love, love, love this post. I completely disagree with the whole "let's all be snarky" crap and seriously baby center is just as bad. I was kind of shocked with the first few weeks as everyone was so nice here compared to there. Being a "mean girl" (and yes there are quite a few here) is not even worth the time. Its pathetic. The world and this group doesn't need anymore of your not so nice comments. Just because you're hiding behind a computer doesn't mean that you get to be mean to everyone and then think it's funny because there are 20 other "women" out there just like you that say the same thing. This group would be a ton better if people would even consider being remotely nice. This is not a support group. This is a "let's see how mean we can be together because we are all hiding behind our computers group" and then justify it by saying that's how we set the rules up. Just be nice. It may not be as fun for you but it would sure be a lot better for the overall group. Also, if you get on here enough to see the same post 50 million times you may want to reconsider how you spend your day. OP, thank you for finally speaking the truth because that's exactly what this is.

Oh really? How many posts do you see about loss or asking for support where literally hundreds of people give support?
ETA: and we offer support and congrats to newbies as well as regs. This is an extremely supportive group, we just don't tolerate stupidity and don't show rainbow and glitter up people's asses.
ETA#2: just no to the "hiding behind a computer". The biggest problem is that people DON'T act online like they would in real life. You wouldn't walk up to a stranger and be like "heyyyy look at my bump" when you're 6 weeks pregnant. We don't know you, act like we're strangers until you get to know us and figure out how to interact in this community. And FYI, I'm a bitch in real life too.

Oh look, another person who doesn't like science and other facts.
I feel like the OP's question deserves a serious answer, though.
No, this is not a support group. This is an internet forum.
If you are expecting a support group, you may be surprised/disappointed/offended that every post is not met with hugs and pats on the back and gentle well-wishes. But that is not because everyone here is "mean" or "catty" or "rude." This is a community, not a support group.
There is plenty of support to be had (look at any T&P or loss thread if you are skeptical) but it is illogical to criticize a group of people for behaving like a group of people instead of a unicorn-puppy-rainbow-love-fest, when no one claimed that's what this is. There is no sign at the top of the page that says "happy unicorn-puppy-rainbow-love-fest here; hugs and support only."
Adjust your expectations, if you would like to participate in this group- or go find an ACTUAL support group if that's what you're looking for. Understand that it is your expectations that need to be adjusted, not an entire pre-existing group of people that need to change their behavior to comply with your expectations. Right?
Because that would be a little ridiculous, wouldn't it?

Okay. This is ridiculous, these ladies on this board are awesome and very supportive. No one has ever been outright mean either and yes if someone kept asking me the same question in front of my face I would get a little irritated. And another thing there is women on this board that have gone through terrible losses and could use some support and encouraging words but no they get pushed back because of stupid post like this and people who take things to seriously. If you want support, I will gladly give it. But you have to contribute and stop trash talking so many of the main women on here that are the most supportive. As other posters have said if you don't like it then leave. If you want to stay then stay but don't complain when people post what they do. Because just like how you get to post what you want, so do other people.

How do you even exist in the real world? Do you start sobbing every time you leave the house? This is exactly what I'm like in real life, along with most normal people who call out bs. By the way I got a raise at work for being easy to work with because I am so transparent with my views. Grow a backbone snowflake.

This part goes both ways though right? I assume, IRL you've never walked into an established group and then stomped your feet and chided them for not behaving the way you want. I assume you would just remove yourself from said established group like a normal person and realize it's not for you. This is no different. You don't have to like it here and you do not have to stay. But saying shit like this is so weird to me.

If I wasn't mobile I would gif Ron Burgundy in his glass case of emotion!
Hey, can we talk about the fact that time and time again, sensitive posters focus only on the one or two negative responses they receive?
It makes no sense to me why, after getting like 20 supportive responses, someone will focus on the one post reminding them that they should have read the READ ME FIRST post and then be all, "YOU GUYS ARE MEAN GIRLS!"
The policing that goes on is an attempt to keep the interesting threads at the top and make it easier for us ALL to find discussions that are worthwhile (not just "dear diary" posts or the same question asked 22 times over). It's hard to build a up community when it's flooded by fly-by posters.
I know there have been plenty of responses but I'm going to throw mine in too.
First to answer your question OP, yes this is partially a support group, however, I'd say its more entertainment than anything at this point. There is clearly a lot of support on this board. See the loss posts and possible loss posts.
When I joined TB I was taken aback by some of the snark but that's because I had never been on a forum before. I totally WK'd as a newb and it was ugly lol. However, the longer you're on TB, the more you get used to the "culture." If you don't like it, you don't have to stay, it's that simple.
There are hot button issues for different people and sure it brings out snark. I personally don't get up in arms about sex vs. gender but the stupid made up names with you-neek spellings drive me crazy as well as the omg I'm 5 weeks pregnant and my poppyseed is showing already!!111! posts.
I think a few PP made an excellent point. IRL, you wouldn't come into an established group and then piss and moan because they didn't change the dynamic for you. You would probably just choose to not interact with said group. I've definitely seen snark go too far but not on this particular board.
I personally am glad that I stuck around TB with my last pregnancy. I was definitely a butthurt newb a few times but I love the ladies on my first BMB and I'm looking forward to getting to know the ladies on July 15.

I've struggled with the same thing. And I think it is time for me to leave. I appreciate you posting this. I hope you have a smooth, supportive, and joyful pregnancy! ♡ Many blessings!
I'm fairly new here and like others have said it took a little time to get the vibe here. Now I've found it to be a lot of fun and rarely use any of the other forums. My advice would be to stick around for a little bit and see how you feel. I've always thought I was more on the "sensitive" side yet I've grown to appreciate the snark.
Although I haven't gotten used to the term butthurt. Lol idk what it is about that word that makes me cringe. Maybe bc the horrible constipation and painful BM???
