Best app for weight loss and calorie tracking?

Ok, turkey and leftovers are done, time for me to lose some weight. What apps are best for weight loss and calorie tracking? Weight watchers? My fitness pal? Spark people? I really hate tracking, but I think it would be helpful

  • Third vote for My Fitness Pal!

  • My Fitness Pal worked for me 50lbs lost (gained back after I had a Dec13 baby) :( but my DH lost 80lbs and has kept it off. No matter what you choose to do to lose the weight remember to drink lots and lots of water. I have heard to try to drink 1/2 your body weight in oz per day. Its hard and I felt like I was drowning when I did it but it did help. Good Luck!

  • I hate tracking calories, but I steadily lost weight using MyNetDiary.

  • I like the Lose It! app, but I also like the old fashioned paper notebook food journal and pedometer.
  • I find WW to be easier to keep me on track than myfitnesspal, but keep in mind WW cost money and myfitnesspal is free. So it depends on your budget!

I determine my daily caloric intake by the old WW point system, and journal with pencil and paper every bite. I drink 8-8oz cups of water a day and my goal is to have 4-5 servings of fruits or veggies per day.

There are 50 calories to 1 point, and your intake is based on your stats

I find MFP is good, but their food info based on other peoples entries. So its not always accurate, and its so slow to load, its quicjer for me to write everything down. I will also Google nutritional information, if its unavailable.

I don't have a lot of $ to do WW, and I find its too much pressure having a group watch me and my progress. I'm better holding myself accountable at home and putting demands on myself. I lost 50lbs (pregnancy weight with DS) doing the above at home

  • I always had trouble losing until I started WW. I did just the online version only though, so I didn't do check ins and meetings and all that junk. I lost 40lbs and it has stayed off.
