How is it possible not to get very much milk out when I'm pumping but when baby eating there is milk pooled in my sheild? I pump after every feeding and she only nurses from one side but the other side I barely get anything out. She only eats every 3-4 hours because she just not hungry. I have been supplementing with whatever milk I do get out or formula after every feeding one oz till she gets back up to birth weight. Is there anything I can do to make pumping more successful?
It's possible you might need to have your pump checked to make sure it's working right. And maybe try doing some massage when you're pumping? Those are two things I've read about.
Re: Pumping question
Also, make sure you're using the right size shield.
