DH is off today. He took Nanc to the sitter's & has Cal at home. He had 1 task. Go to Target, return the boots he bought for Nanc, pick up peanut butter, Q-Tips & Toothpaste.
He is so flustered because he "can't get anything done" at home with Cal there. Uh? What? He wants to fix the snow blower. Dude. You can't do that with a baby home. I told him he better pray nothing ever happens to me while our kids our young, as he'd never go anywhere, and if he did, he would be 2 hours late for everything. Nancy was supposed to be at the sitter's at 8. She got there at 940 because it took 45 minutes for her to eat breakfast....
Haha, when I do W's morning routine I get her to daycare late. I'm totally the dude. I always feel like DH rushes her but I think he has it figured out

I'm pretty sure you just described my DH. I told him yesterday to bring B outside for a while to play. We had just gotten fresh snow and he loves to play in it. Bring him outside and have him help shovel or help you snowblow. "I can't do that! How am I supposed to watch him and do that?" What do you think I do the whole time your not home? Sit down and do nothing. He loves to help, let him. Also the eating thing. Dude, have him sit, eat and be done it's that simple. He doesn't want to eat and wants to play, breakfast is over and you move on. Men!

My DH also gives Nancy all these choices. "Nancy, do you want eggs, cereal or waffles for breakfast?" Then she changes her mind 100 times because duh, she's 2 and he's already halfway through making something else. It's asinine.
I can't believe it never occurred to them to get you a fucking cake. They ask you to make cakes, and don't even buy a cake for you on your birthday?? Whaaa?
I cried over the stupidest thing last night. My ILs called to see if we want to go to a birthday lunch for DH's sister. They then asked if I would make a cake to take for her. He said yes to both without asking me. Whatever.
I then got pissy because no one ever plans anything for me for my birthday. He never has. I always plan something fun for his, and organise a lunch or dinner or a BBQ for it. Then I started crying because no one has baked me a cake, or even bought me a cake, for my birthday since I was 10. Yet my ILs ask every birthday if I can make a cake for whoevers birthday it is, DH always tells them I will. I told him I'm sick of making cakes for his family, and sick of never having anyone plan anything for my birthday. I told him I want a cake on my fucking birthday.
I'm sure I sounded like I was 12, haha. What a dickhead.
I'm right there with you. I may have broken down last night because my birthday gets fucked this year because of DH being sick and not working. Then I started having a pity party and remembered how it was screwed two years ago, because I was only a month off of ML and we didn't have any money to do anything. And last year nothing happened on my birthday except for my IL's forgetting. All I have ever really wanted is a super awesome surprise party, but I doubt I will even get that for my 30th.
I'll stop now. I'm with @indigovader I will bake you a cake will all the love, but you have to come to KS..... Sorry about that!

Haha Bennett doesn't even give you the answer. If you ask him waffle or oatmeal he says "yes" or "no" which could mean the opposite. Usually I give him a grain, protein, fruit for breafast. DH gives him raisins, orange, a waffle, crackers etc. The kid gets a million options on his plate.
Yep, DH likes to act like I'm super picky or something. What should they wear? What do they eat? I don't give a fuck as long as you stop asking me questions. Same with plans for special occasions or anything else. If I want to do anything, I have to coordinate it all, find a sitter and remind him twenty times.
My dream would be for him to plan something and not ask me one single question. It will never happen.
So I got a copy of that article I talked about yesterday. The article would have been kind of cute overall (like most of this guy's writing) if it weren't about a real house for sale, if it contained facts, and if copies weren't mailed to the buyers. The sellers lost their sale, and now the entire town knows about it, so I'll just post it.
I think the most damning things in the article are the pee soaked floors - which indicates an irreparable condition (soaked subfloors), the chimney draft (also could be a costly fix), and the "spring" it's built on (the malarial swamp). I wouldn't have bought the house either.
All 3 of those things are not true, though the lot is a wet lot so they have a sump. So does the author of the article, so do my parents and the other 5 neighbors. None of them are on a spring, it is a low piece of land and people put sumps in because they don't like soggy yards, not really a big deal.
It's amazing to me that he would write something like that. If all of that stuff really was in the flyer he is handing himself over to a lawsuit and soon owning two lots in that not so great neighborhood....
I was playing on the ground with the little girls and it was time to feed Lennon. I walked 8 feet away to get the Boppy and when I turned around, Sawyer had her big toe in Lennon's mouth and Len was sucking on it. Ugh.

I had plans to bake pumpkin cinnamon chip cookies with the boys this afternoon and put our new DH-made kitchen helper to good use, but I slipped on some ice outside of Jack's preschool and my back is killing me. Not sure how Will and I managed to get IN to school with no problems, however it was a 3 Stooges movie trying to get the 3 of us to the car. Jack kept falling down, then that would make Will laugh, so he would lose his balance as I tried to keep him upright. I felt a little helpless bc we were sort of stuck In a river of ice and I was holding Jack's boots that he should have had in his feet. Then he wouldn't have fallen so many times.
Luckily, I didn't fall but as was latching Will in, I sort of slipped into his car seat and hit it with my boob. My 32-week belly was not bumped at all but since the boys went down for a nap, I've been sitting first with a warmed up rice bag thing and now a heating pad. ( I was really REALLY looking forward to cookie dough.

This made me giggle. Half the time Will grabs Jack's toothbrush and sticks it in his mouth before anyone can stop him.
@jenndub I'm sorry but I am dying laughing! I will add that to the list of things Luci would do if she was a big sister....
@amandad715 I hope you get to feeling better quickly! After last year's fall I am all kinds of nervous about this year. I'm only 28, but damnit I feel like an old lady out there waddling....
Oh my lord, DH drives me crazy when it comes to the kids. He can only deal with one at a time, and can't ever make a decision about what to feed Andy without asking me what he have in the pantry first. Our conversation went like this last night:
Me: "can you make Andy's lunch for DC tomorrow?"
DH: "yeah. What do you want him to have?"
Me: "look in the pantry and fridge and see what we have. I'm kind of busy sorting out Miles."
DH: "I can't see anything in here. Can you come show me what to make?"
Me: "can you make him a sandwich?"
DH: "yeah, but what do I put on it?"
What the actual shit?
I've told him if I died tomorrow he would be screwed.
We've got about a foot of snow. Maybe a little less since it was wet and packed a bit. Really hoping power stays on. I thought for sure power would go out once I put my pie in the oven but I made it. It's cooked. We have heat from the woodstove but still would like to keep power!
Baby boy has been so active!
I really want the Kate Spade Stevie bag for this one. Can everyone keep their eyes out for me? There was a sale today but that wasn't included.
There is a uhaul in front of my neighbor's house. I could only be happier if there was one in front of the other neighbor's house. I'm really not a mean person but the people leaving have had nearly non stop police activity of a random sort (not drugs so far as we can tell, I don't think DV but maybe, it's usually quiet police activity but activity all the same) and on the other side their house is literally caving in and have a dead carcass of an oak tree that dropped a limb on our car but won't do anything to fix it. And I'm pretty sure their children will grow up to be axe murderers since they just stand on their deck in the summer and stare at us over the fence when we're back there eating or having beers or just hanging out. Just staring. wtf.
Bahahaah I had the same feelings when I saw the Uhaul in front of the house next door--the perpetual pot smokers with the untrained dog moved out. That dog almost jumped the fence last summer when we had friends over. Seriously--take a break from the pot and take your dog to a training class. You can be back to the reefer in a couple weeks.
@MelsaX I'm irrationally upset about my birthday this year. We never do anything because it's so close to Christmas, but I've been saying for years that I want to do something big for my 30th--maybe a 1930s theme cocktail party. Well, DH is going to be out of town for his umpteenth Navy thing this year, so that's shot. I get to solo parent for a couple weeks instead. And then he has the gall to say "hey, we should throw a NYE party! How about a 1930s thing?" Awesome. Unless this is an elaborate surprise, you are kinda being an insensitive d-bag.

The boys and I are out the door at 7am during the week so they can be to daycare and settled by 7:30 so I can be at work for 8:15. On H's weekend he is allowed to pick them up as early as he wants, he usually shows up around 10 and half the time he only has to get himself out the door.
I'm kind of struggling trying to figure out what to do for the boys teachers for the holidays. They are there for 10 hours a day, so they each have 3 main teachers and at least 3-4 aides throughout the day. I cannot possibly do even a $10 gift card for all of them

What if you got them a group gift like a box of munchkins, box of coffee, Starbucks GC or a larger gift card for them to all order lunch from a panera, chipotle, moes etc

What about baking cookies or sweet breads for each if them? Or those mason jars that have all the ingredients for cookies or brownies and all you do is add the eggs/butter/wet ingredients? You'd have to purchase the jars and supplies but it might not be much if you shop at Aldi or look on Amazon for the jars or do generic for baking supplies. I always buy generic staples. As a teacher, I never expect any gifts at all. But the homemade ones mean the most(ex -ornaments from a student) Once a family gave their "secret family recipe fudge". It was such a hit with me and I was able to to share at a family gathering too.

Last year my sister gave my nephew's teachers a couple of codes for Redbox, a package of microwave popcorn, and a box of candy.
I got a text from my DCP reminding me to drop a check off at pick-up. I texted her back to ask if she was closed on Friday. She told me yes. Umm..hello lady, did you ask me?
I texted her back and asked when she asked me for the day off. I am pissed. She has had last minute sick days in the past, and I get that it is a holiday weekend, but you still need to ask to close your business for the day when I am paying you.
Now DH & I are scrambling to figure out Friday. We both HAVE to work. I think I can get away with a 4 hour day and go in on Saturday if I can't get everything done. DH needs a full day. It looks like I will be going in at the buttcrack of dawn to get shiz done and come home at naptime, he will go in then and work past bedtime. Awesome. Just how I wanted to spend my weekend. UGH!!!
