Alliterative Names

What are your thoughts on Alliterative Names (first & last starting with the same letter/sound)?

Personally, I'm a fan of some (Benjamin Bratt, Marilyn Monroe) but others... not so much (Lucy Liu).

We are thinking about naming baby girl "Elizabeth". I realize that there are countless nickname options; however, my current fav is "Libby".

Our last name name is one syllable and starts with the letter "L". So, please give me your honest opinions on a name (nickname) that would sound like "Libby Loud".

Re: Alliterative Names

  • I think it would be so cute! I have a cousin named Libby and we call her Libby Lou. :-)

I think it's fine, especially if it's a nn. Libby Lewis for example is adorable but Elizabeth Lewis is beautiful and sophisticated. They both work and your DD can choose how she wants to be called as she gets older.

ETA: Just realized Loud must be similar to your ln.   I still think it's fine!
