I am 13 weeks, and I know that I am not likely to feel the baby moving for a few more weeks, but I am just wondering when others first noticed the "flutters" or felt something that turned out to really be baby
22 weeks with both pregnancies. With my second, I had placenta previa, which made it harder to feel the movements. Settle in, you have a bit of a wait ahead of you.
I think it's different for everyone, and whenever it happens for you is normal. For me it was flutters at 16-17 weeks, definite kicks at 18 weeks. By 21 weeks, DH could feel the kicks by placing a hand on my belly. My placenta was in the back so I got lucky that way.
I'm 17 weeks and just started feeling the flutters this week (FTM). Yesterday and this morning from about 8 to 9 am it feels a bit like a party in there! They feel kind of like muscle twitches to me and I seem to only notice them in the morning.
I'm almost at 21 weeks and am still waiting to feel anything, but the doc said my placenta is anterior, so it may take a little longer. But he sure was swimming around during the 20 wk U/S!
With DS1, the placenta was in front. I didn't feel him until 24 weeks (almost 25). With DS2, it was right after the 20 week anatomy scan. This guy is active, so I started feeling him around 18 weeks. But I also know what I am looking for now.
My doc said if I was worried to drink half a can of soda or orange juice and lay on my stomach. That usually gives baby a jolt and laying on your tummy makes it easier to feel movement. I know some people are very anti-caffeine while pregnant, so of course ask your doctor.
FTM here. I was suspicious off and on at 17 weeks but a few days ago I started feeling definite movement (18 weeks). Baby appears to have inherited DH and my energy, they're very active!
I actually never felt movement with my first pregnancy. My son was in a weird spot and the doctor said it was normal because of where he was. This time I felt movement at around 16 weeks.
1st pregnancy and first movements were at 17w5d. DH felt them from the outside a week after. I never felt the flutters or bubbles, more like a spasm or twitch. Others have been able to feel starting at 19w
Just about 15 weeks with both pregnancies. It started as flutters but by the 20 week mark they were definite kicks (this baby seems to be much more interested in rolling though!)
I am 22 weeks pregnant and started feeling flutters at around 18 weeks. Still waiting on those feel from the outside kicks, but im expecting that very soon
I'm a FTM and I think I had those little flutters and light kicks the beginning of week 18. By week 20, I KNEW it was my little guy and then last night they were finally strong and frequent enough for my husband to feel them.
With my first, I felt first flutters sometime between weeks 15 & 16. They got more consistent closer to 20 and we were able to feel them from the outside at 22.
Re: 1st pregnancy... when did you first feel the baby move?
Yeah, no. Your baby is so small at 10 weeks, it's physically impossible to feel them move. It was gas.
Baby boy Henry born 2015.
Expecting our capstone baby (boy) early March 2018.
