Broken toe?

so about 45 minutes ago...I stubbed my toes on a box and holy crap the pain!!! My toe is swelling by the minute and a bruise is taking over. I can't really move it. I have it elevated, but I can't stand to have any pressure on it... like to put ice on it.

I don't think they do anything for broken toes, right?

I've never had a broken bone so not sure what to look for. Not really sure if I should go get an xray specially if they won't do anything for it anyway.

Any advice?

Oh man the thought of someone even touching it makes me want to scream. I can tolerate pressure on it for like two seconds.

Tape it, take Advil or Ibuprofen, ice, and stay off it for a whie. They won't do anything for a broke toe.

I kicked the high chair and broke my toe a few months ago. I had never broken a toe before either. I did not tape it and it was fine. It swelled so much I really could not wear shoes for a few days.
From what I remember the first day was the worst, then it was much better so long as nothing touched it. Hope you feel better soon.

No but tomorrow you need to. It's just to help it stay straight and so you can wear shoes. Be prepared socks are going to kill you! And wear lose and roomy shoes.

I've broken my toe twice now. I just did ice pack and elevation and once some of the swelling comes down I tape it to the other toe. It usually hurts for a good week so wearing shoes is tough. Luckily both times it was the summer when I broke my toe.
