The induction thing has me worried too, I really would like to avoid that if I can. I also have a revolving practice of Dr.s and the only one I asked about it so far said we will make that decision as we see how things progress, but they could induce as early as 37 weeks
At my 32 week growth ultrasound baby was 47th percentile.
On another note, I started the insulin on thursday and my sugars are still high but better. I am guessing they will raise the dose.
Thank you all for posting on here, it helps to see what others are going through!
@BdblZ - I would straight up tell OB2 that you are not comfortable with an induction unless medically indicated for YOU rather than some asinine guideline and tell her about your concerns after speaking with the other OB. Obviously you don't want to put your kid at risk, but that doesn't mean you don't get to advocate for yourself.
On another note - am I the only one here who has had 0 change in their care since being diagnosed with GD other than a fancy new diet and finger pricking routine? I have not been referred to an MFM, no extra NSTs or ultrasounds, no mention of induction or other birth interventions. Just my normal appointments.
@amedbery Hmmm...maybe you are the only one. I had some other risk factors during all my pregnancies, but my OB routinely sends all his GD patients to the MFM.
@amedbery I was not referred to a mfm but did have a growth u/s with my regular OB and have had weekly NST's. I asked her about induction and was told that as long as he was doing well on NST's and GD we controlled by diet I would be allowed to go to 40wks but not past.
Hmm. That is weird. Have you flat out asked about it?

@amedbery - thanks. I'm definitely going to have a list of questions when I see the OB next. She just caught me so off guard that I wasn't really prepared. (Im one of those people that always has the best comeback.....10 minutes after its needed :-< I just need the time to process)
I also think you might be the only one that hasn't gotten any special referrals or extra testing. Are you able to manage by diet alone? That could be why...

I do have an endo, but everything else has been within my OB's office.
