Recommend your pram

I'm having a hard time finding a pram...or snowsuit, whatever you want to call it.  Everything I am finding only goes through 9 months and LO is about 2 inches away from outgrowing 9 months and I would like it to last her the whole winter.

I'm looking for something hooded with fold over mittens.  It doesn't have to be the shiny snowsuit material since she won't actually be in snow.  I did find a Burt's Bee's one in 12 month but it's $40.  It would be nice to spend less since I have seen lots for 20-$30, just not in her size.

Re: Recommend your pram

  • I have a hard time understanding when to even use a snow suit, especially when they aren't actually gong to be in the snow. Considering it is so unsafe for them to wear in the car seat, I just don't get when they are supposed to wear it, unless you are going to be outside in the cold for an extended period of time. That being said I got something from old navy about a month ago. Still unsure when I will ever put her in it though...

  • I thought a pram was a stroller....backs out slowly lol
I thought so too, but since she said snowsuit, I just went with that.

  • I saw some at Children's Place up to 18 months, I think. They were a nice thick fleece.

When DS1 was in daycare they requested that we have snow suits for the kids because they were required to take them outside (within reason) and it was winter in WI. We still have his and at this point I'm not in a hurry to get another one to have two on hand.

  • We will only use the snowsuit for stroller walks.
In the car will be fleece sweatshirt/light jacket and blankets.
We also have hats and mitts that the boys can wear when needed.

MIL bought 2 snowsuits for DS1 last year (when he was 13-16 months) one of which never left the hanger, that LO will wear (8-12 months).
He will wear a one piece that has flaps to cover feet and hands, the other is a 2 piece and would be more trouble to get on.

DS1 has a new 2 piece for playing outside (hopefully we get some snow)
  • Thanks all, I will check the places mentioned.  As far as I can tell, a pram is also a stroller.  I am not sure why they are both called a pram...I guess one of those instances where the same word means two different things.

I plan on using it for when she will be outside for extended periods of time.  Her coat is plenty warm enough, but to keep her legs warm I think the pram will work well since she can't kick it off like she would a blanket.  I hope to still go for walks when it isn't super cold and the side walks are clear so she'll need it for that and there are other things we might go to that require being outside for a bit.
