Re: UO

  • I think it's funny when people think flu=puking or out he other end, when in fact flu stands for inFLUenza. A respiratory virus. The puking and pooing symptoms are rare and happen
    more in children than adults.

I must've been out for too long, I totally have no idea what's going on! I kinda want a link just for entertainment, and I kinda don't...

I'm not on the flu shot bandwagon either. My doc asked if I wanted to give my little 6 month old a flu shot along with the other 4 he was scheduled to get. when I said absolutely not, she didn't press it and didn't act like it was too important. I'm not worried about it.

Idk if this is really a UO or not, but I believe that all professional-type schools should have a limit on how many students they can accept per year. (example: law schools, medical schools, teaching schools, nursing, etc). this would keep demand high and salaries high, instead of the glut of graduates many professions are seeing now which drives starting salaries down and creates an awful job market. it works well for a lot of specialty programs in our area. example: my friend went for radiology. her school only accepts 6 students per year into that program, and due to the restriction, all of the graduates who want jobs are placed and see good salaries.

    just an idea!

Uh, I think you're blaming the poor job market on the wrong thing. Everyone went to law school after the economy crashed and nobody could find other work 5 years ago. The influx of graduates happened because the market was bad, not vice versa.

    that's probably true (I was 17 5 years ago so I wasn't paying attention.)

But I think her idea is a good one. It's all supply & demand.

Also whoever called out trade schools I agree! If I were to go back to school I'd MUCH rather go to a trade school, get my certificate in what I wanted faster, rather than going through a university that requires classes that aren't specifically geared towards that degree. Eg: An engineering major required to take a humanities class.

  • katykatykaty  I'm sure the crash/recession had a lot to do with it as well, I think it's a mix of things that caused many of our current problems. I just think some limits will help.

I totally agree with the trade school idea. in my area (near Chicago) you can throw a rock and hit a law student, but trades like engineering and bricklaying are very in demand and pay very well!

    Formula feeding...much easier.

Yeah especially when they don't poop for 5 days.

  • I'm on the trade school bandwagon too! Not everyone desires a college degree career. My super smart husband wishes he could do over high school so he could have attended the vo-tech program for business and mechanics instead of taking the honors and AP courses he was "tracked" into.

Yeah especially when they don't poop for 5 days.
And then you over do it with the prunes to get them to poop and it's a nightmare.... It's such a fine balance.
always timed with when you put them in the new white or light coloured pants

Are you talking about the squeeze pouch things you can buy at the grocery store? My nearly 3 year old still eats them. Most days it's the only way to get a veggie into her.

I haven't tried the pouches yet... They do seem like they would be nice for when you aren't home

@wisconsincheese12   They are AMAZING for travel. Super easy to feed on a plane/ in an airport. Great in general tho.

I mean, I goes they'd be ok for travel or if you're on the go a lot, but idk, I'm not a fan, personally.

  • Maybe this should go into dumb flame free questions....

Re- pouches- would I just give that to LO to suck the food out of? I usually make his food, but bought one of those when we were out one time. I poured the food into a bowl and fed him with a spoon. I am now guessing I did this wrong....
Some people hold it for the lot to suck out of and some people just hand it over, I think it depends on what your lo can handle. I haven't tried the pouchss yet but might have to give them a try
  • It never occurred to me to let him just suck it out of the pouch! This will definitely make traveling easier.
