I don't think everyone should vote. If you're just going to show up and vote for the names you recognize on lawn signs without having any clue what the candidate stands for, it's better that you just stay home. Of course, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about the results.

I'm not sure how much I plan on being around anymore. I learned yesterday that people aren't always who they claim to be and don't really care as much as they say they do. Today may just be a last hurrah before I float off into the oblivion.

ETA : HAPPY BIRTHDAY !
Married : ** 09/09/2011 ** BFP : 07-18-13 ** Baby #1 is a GIRL , Born 03/12/14 **
Not on Facebook. Don't get the vague woe is me reference. Don't care unless you're actually gonna give details. Don't know why fb drama would affect being on tb.
This has made me realize that I need to make my online relationships more of a priority. I have been ignoring them in place of my career, and that's just shameful.

If you aren't in at least 15 secret chats you have failed.
I'm so deep underground I don't even announce my PMs.

UO: I would not get the flu shot nor my kids -- but it's mandatory with my employer.
I do believe in vaccinations though - - and my kids get them.
Today is my husband's birthday and I will not be making a cake. Nothing personal... just the way it's gonna go down. ((And, I will not be "going down" just because it's his birthday))
My UO sounds like an FFFC, but it's not. I don't like the flu shot, and my house doesn't participate in them.
I used to have that opinion until I got the flu. Then I got pregnant and didn't want to feel like death while prego. Now I make everyone in my house get it. The flu sucks.
This. I think anyone who refuses to get the flu shot has never had the actual flu. And I think most of them think they had it and it wasn't so bad but it wasn't actually the flu.
I have one related to the election. I don't understand how people can be married to someone with opposite political views, especially on social issues. I could never do it. It's too important to me.
I really lose respect for people when they are constantly late or tardy to things like: work, meetings, get together's, etc. You coming in five minutes late is distracting and really annoying. Come on, we all agreed on a time - - get there. To be early is to be on time - to be on time is to be late.

Dh doesn't follow politics and the one time he did vote in the 2008 election he voted for what he knew his parents wanted.... Since then he hasn't voted. In 2012 he had class 6:30 to 3 and worked at 3 to midnight he didn't vote and didn't care.

Technically we could differ but he doesn't care
Yeah, I get that not everyone is into it. I'm talking more about the people who are... Like if you both go vote together and know you're going to cancel out the votes.
My neighbor just voted for the pro-choice governor candidate (I know this because she posted it on FB), and she also posted that her husband voted for the super conservative pro-life candidate (who sadly won, yay Texas!). I just couldn't do that... I think I'd have to get a divorce. Seriously.
I got the flu shot years ago and that was the only year I got the flu - fever of 104, squirting out both ends, I thought I was going to die! I did not get it right after the shot it was about 3 months later. Have not had the shot since then and no flu.
With that being said. pedi highly recommend I and the DH get them along with Lo, so I did for LO's sake. I will do anything to keep her healthy.
my UO: having people come in to the vet specialist office (I work for a Veterinary Dermatologist) "knowing" what is wrong with their pet and not listening to what the specialist is saying. Dr Google is wrong more often then not. You came to see a specialist, let them do their fucking job!!! just because your dog has a skin problem does not mean it has to be skin tested, treat the fucking skin infections first then lets see what is left.
I must've been out for too long, I totally have no idea what's going on! I kinda want a link just for entertainment, and I kinda don't...
I'm not on the flu shot bandwagon either. My doc asked if I wanted to give my little 6 month old a flu shot along with the other 4 he was scheduled to get. when I said absolutely not, she didn't press it and didn't act like it was too important. I'm not worried about it.
Idk if this is really a UO or not, but I believe that all professional-type schools should have a limit on how many students they can accept per year. (example: law schools, medical schools, teaching schools, nursing, etc). this would keep demand high and salaries high, instead of the glut of graduates many professions are seeing now which drives starting salaries down and creates an awful job market. it works well for a lot of specialty programs in our area. example: my friend went for radiology. her school only accepts 6 students per year into that program, and due to the restriction, all of the graduates who want jobs are placed and see good salaries.

I used to have this same opinion. But now that I have a baby I disagree. I'm not as punctual as I used to be.
I know Vet schools accept a limited number. We have 120 each class with over 2000 applicants each year. with only 30 schools in the US. Many accepted a lower number of students. These are for your general practice veterinarians. If they want to specialize it is harder and harder...
I think we need to start pushing trade schools over college. we need them just as bad as the college grads

I've very sympathetic... but I can't stand being late so I get around earlier with the kids.
I'm having déjà vu.
I find Facebook annoying, but I love lurking too much to delete my account. I don't know how y'all do the groups - the constant activity drives me crazy, especially since I'm mostly mobile.
This is exactly why I left it after two days.... I just didn't need to know if you all raked your leaves - or went grocery shopping at that very second....
