@MissDemeanor how is packing for the trip going? You guys leave tomorrow, right?
@Mevaroo it's hell. All these last minute things keep happening. Like the RV is leaking. And this morning, the insurance company cancelled our house insurance, for here, plus our revenue properties. And I lost my phone. And you would not believe the number of orphan socks we found!! A whole laundry basket full. I threw them all out.
LO is feeling stressed because we are. Plus I think he just heard the news that he has to sit in his evil car seat for 4000 km each way. He is making his displeasure known by refusing to sleep.
I think $hell money is right. Vodka must be packed. Or consumed immediately.
Thanks for checking in with us. how did E's costume day go? Are you Harvest Festivalling at all? If not, I think Target already has their candy on sale.
@MissDemeanor I'm going to consume vodka for you. Holy cow, mama....
do me a favour ok? The next time I tell you about one of our crazy ideas, just tell me NO. And huge hugs to all of you who have moved recently. I don't think I gave you sufficient credit for doing it. It's AWFUL.

E's costume day went great. He had the only non-store bought costume and his was way better than rest. He got lots of compliments on his hat. We are going to a church's Harvest Festival tonight (free candy!) but I had to cut his caterpillar shirt off of him yesterday, so unless I fix it before then, he will just wear a super hero one
I'm just putting R in the Superman Jammie's I got on sale for 3 bucks at Walmart. He may also be a cowboy, but that's just his cowboy boots and bandana bib. Along with his pet costume hat. Huge props to you for making his costume!
I think you should go yo the Harvest Festival as a marathon runner. That involves buying a new outfit from Lulu, right?
No job news yet. It's entirely possible I won't hear anything until after the weekend. Even after replaying the interview in my head, I have no idea what to expect.
But in other news, does anyone have any good stew-type recipes? Like something warm and cozy, preferably made with chicken. Chicken chili, or chicken stew? I could use the slow cooker but it would need to be done in 3-4 hours.
It's cold and grey and kind of rainy here, and I want to cook something that matches the weather.
Just started the Gilmore Girls pilot.
Why does Luke's diner look so different? I don't remember this at all!
I'm on season four. I love Gilmore Girls. So much I'm a Lorelei / Rory combo. Work in hotels? Check! Drive a Jeep? Check! Eat too much junk food and talk to fast? Check check! Love reading? Check!
@iwubrory ToT where I live is decided by the town council.
@shellbell3845 The town council? Do you have a population of like 100?
It would be nice to at least have a set start time. Last year dh and I were trying to figure out when we could start because we didn't want to he out too late with DS.
Ha! Nope. I live in a very large suburb of a city. As someone else mentioned, I think it prevents kids from "ToTing" at 10pm -- or from going out like as soon as they get home from school, maybe.
I feel like my last city was too big for a set timeframe to actually be acknowledged and followed. A bunch of lawless rule breakers in that town. That would probably go over fine in my new much smaller city.
LO got his flu shot yesterday and I'm being told he has been extra cranky today. I'm sure his poor thigh is sore. I'm hoping to at least get him into his costume for a picture.
I'm letting W play with a snow brush thingie and a stalk of lemongrass to prevent a car seat melt down. All other forms of entertainment were rejected. MOTY!
My MIL is driving me nuts. She's doing a play by play of ToT. "Here comes one. Here comes another. Oh, here comes a little one. Oh, them are big ones coming now."

We haven't had a single trick or treater come to our door yet. I'm kind of hoping no one shows up because I want to keep the 10lb bag of candy to myself.
I give up. Today can be done. LO refuses to nap unless I'm holding her. I bring my sewing machine out from storage and it full on broken. Not the broken that can be repaired at home, the $200 full tear down by a shop broken. I'm pissed at who used it last. She didn't say a word that it makes very load metal on metal clicking noises for every stich, or that it's makino a load whining from the motor. Needless to say her costume can't be done at all. She who will not be named is no longer welcome to stay with us for actions like this.
I miss having trick or treaters. It's always fun for the first hour or so. But I'm also thankful we can just go out to dinner and not think about kids showing up at the house.
@ramfan05 - why are you not allowed to celebrate Halloween at school? I like your work-around idea, though!! The kids will love it
@Sakura0019, we celebrated Halloween big time at my old school, which is in the same district. I really think that it's because we have kids from so many different countries/cultures, and many of them don't celebrate Halloween, so we are not really supposed to acknowledge it. Everyone had something going on today, though.
I'm trying to catch up. I'm sure most everyone is done for the night. i just got home, got LO to bed, cleaned up the place, and just replied to a bunch of emails. finally some time to bump! i am EXHAUSTED though! today was a long day.
ANND!!!!!! last night LO didn't wake up until 5 am!!! thats 9 whole hours straight! and i went to bed at 930, and didn't wake up until 330, checked on LO then went back to bed until 5 when he woke up. omg. it was like the heavens opened up and angels were singing. i hope he sleeps like that again tonight! FX!!!!
@narcissticbeaut Enjoy the sleep. @ramfan05 Your pancake recipe has been added to a recipe card. @MissDemeanor Have fun with the packing of the RV. No thing will go as planned, but it will be perfect anyways. Im sure you joined an RV group discount group. GoodSam was great when we broke an axle. We 'camped' in Camping Worlds parking lot over the weekend. It was crazy, but we laugh now about it. Nothing will be perfect, but it will be great non the less.
Why do the teething gods hate me?
LO just cut 3&4 a week ago, and I can now see 5&6 close to cutting. Poor thing has been a mess and inconsolable at times.
The standard things are not distracting or numbing right now. I will be making some teething beef jurkie in the next week or so. Any other unconventional tips and tricks for teething?

I really wish you lived in Stars Hollow though!
This makes me want to watch it all over again too!
@mummypig Your Goats Munch Pears
ETA LMAO! I'm REALLY bad at the whole acronym thing... YGPM
@carissalynp &@Avswolf I hope both of your LOs feel better asap!
