Good luck to all of you who are stimming. Sending hugs all around to all the Tiny Turkeys!
I *finally* got a call from my nurse today. I start Lupron (10 units) in the morning, my last BCP will be next Thursday, and my baseline appt is Nov 10. I'm ready to get this show on the road!
QOTD: We're heading back home tomorrow for my dad's wedding on Sunday. We never usually do anything for Halloween, and never get any trick-or-treaters anyway.

So much going on around here!!! Sorry for the generic shoutouts, but I'm exhausted! Go Tiny Turks!!
I painted a pumpkin last weekend.... Picture below
I did my second Delestrogen shot tonight and am happy to report that I injected in the correct spot this time! You know, IM shots are supposed to be done in the upper/outer quadrant for a reason!! I had bad aim last Monday, and most definitely hit a nerve! This time hurt a lot less
QOTD: I'll hand out candy to the six trick-or-treaters who might venture allll the way down to the end of our cul de sac
QOTD: We will be handing out candy! We have a small neighborhood but we get vanfuls of kids from less nice areas of the city. Other than that just cleaning and hopefully relaxing some, its been a stressful week.

Lupron side effects hit full force last night with me waking up constantly due to hot flashes and a headache today. Boo. I just hope the moodiness stays away.
@mariana81 - Yes I think it may be a cold rather than my original thought of allergies. My nurse said I can take meds until next Wednesday, but did not have any recommendations. I have tried Mucinex before, but it really dries me out to the point I cannot get enough water to stay hydrated!! I am running by the pharmacy tonight, so I will ask their opinion on drugs!!

Sorry that I am late to the party(again)! Such a big group...I love reading all of the updates. I had my first monitoring appt today. So far 7 measurable follicles around 5-8 mm with estrogen at 258. Dr. Is keeping me on 600iu follistim and I go back on sunday. I am hoping a couple more follicles grow . My personal goal (although I have no control over it) is 10-12 eggs retrieved this time. Fingers crossed... ER should be mid - end of next week. Eeekk!

Anyone on prometrium 3 times a day? Can I do my midday dose and not lay down after? Obviously, midday is in the middle of work, I'm a teacher so I'll be standing or sitting. For the moment I've been doing it when I get out, but I want to space the doses out more evenly....like every 8 hours.
I'm baaaaaacccccckkkkkkkkkkk!!!!! You can put me under waiting to cycle!!!!!!!! As long as I ovulated when I think I did and AF shows up on time, and my thyroid behaves at baseline, and stimming goes well, we should be able to have both ER and ET before December rolls around. I don't know what protocol I'll be on, but my nurse is supposed to be emailing me a whole crap load of paperwork on Monday. We'll be doing IVF with pICSI.

@Spring78 - I had a rough go with my first IM shot of this cycle too. Turns out, I stuck the needle in the wrong spot! Oops! I think I definitely hit a nerve. The next one went much better - no pain!
I got my flu shot today. My arm's a bit sore! When I went to the pharmacy to get it yesterday, the pharmacist on duty told me she was not authorized to do it. I wanted to be like, "Just give me the dang needle and I'll do it myself!" Sigh.

Thank you! I've been wearing pantyliners but will try it at work on Tuesday!
I had my first monitoring appt this morning. After 4 days of stims I have 45 follicles (20 L, 25 R) but all are still under 10mm. I'm not sure of exact sizes since my clinic doesn't measure anything under 10. I'm waiting for the bw results this afternoon.
@mariana81 Thanks for thinking of me! The mess is not taken care of yet, so I will be sending another message to the financial lady on Monday. It will probably take a few more times of me bugging her to get the ball rolling again. The one claim that was resubmitted was covered though, so I have hope that most of the blood work will end up being paid by insurance, it's just a matter of making it happen.
Right now I am still trying to get my lovenox fiasco straightened out, which I don't think I have updated here. I realized Thursday night after talking to @RunCC37 and another bump IF grad that my pharmacy only processed my script for lovenox for 14 days instead of 30 days which means that I needed a refill this week before I head to Chicago. I didn't really want to have it shipped from out of state (especially since I think they will charge me shipping on such a small order. Lovenox is the only injectible med that I have insurace coverage for.) so Friday morning I asked my nurse to call a new prescription into my local Avella pharmacy. It's only about 10 minutes from my work so it should be pretty easy and convenient for me to fill it there. Later that afternoon Avella calls saying that they can't fill my script because they are out of network as a specialty pharmacy for my insurance. I thought this was strange since I had my estradiol and Cipro filled there for my FET with donor embryos with no issue.
I call my insurance and it turns out that they will only pay for specialty prescriptions (injections like lovenox) through certain pharmacies that are contracted as specialty pharmacies with them, regardless if the pharmacy is in network. So I ask where the closest pharmacy is and he starts naming cities that are like 4 hours away! Pretty much there are no contracted specialty pharmacies in my area! (side note I live about 15 minutes from St. Louis, so it's not like I am in the middle of the sticks somewhere) I even question him as to why their price checker on the website shows that the prescription is $10 for the generic at my local walmart/walgreens/shopNsave pharmacy etc, and he says "oh that's just a pricing tool, it doesn't take into consideration if the pharmacy is contracted or not." That makes no sense! Why would it give me prices for pharmacies that can't even fill my prescription! So I have him transfer me to the insurace home delivery pharmacy and decide to have my prescription filled through them. I call my nurse back explain the situation and she calls the prescription into the insurance pharmacy. I get a call Friday night at 8:30pm and the delievery is set up to go out Monday for delivery on Tuesday. It seems like the drama is resolved.
Saturday morning I get up and was doing some banking online and check my order on my insurance website and notice that they put the prescription under the wrong doctor's name. I think to myself, "Hopefully this doesn't screw things up." (For those that don't know I started IVF treatments with a doctor that has his own small private practice, but uses an outside clinic for his IVF patients. After 3 failed IVF cycles he told us that we needed to look at 3rd party repro. We did a cycle with donor embryos at another clinic, but after seeing a RI we wanted to try OE again. He didn't support another cycle with OE so we switched doctors and now see the RE that is the medical director at the clinic we were at. So we stayed at the same clinic, but are with another doctor) A few hours later I get a confused call from the nurse at my previous RE's private practice saying that she had a prescription for lovenox that she knows nothing about since I haven't been into their office since May. I have her fax it to the clinic and right now I am hoping that this doesn't mess up my delivery for Tuesday. I plan on calling my clinic tomorrow, but will have to deal with a different nurse since my nurse is out all this week.
Between my missing syringes and needles and now the lovenox mess, my med order has been one hot mess! I have never had this many issues with my med orders before!

Oh Twinkie I'm so sorry you're still dealing with this mess. I hope they can all get their shit together soon!
@NariaDreaming honestly at this point it's becoming quite comical. I can now understand the stress some women who have infertility coverage go through. While it's stressful to have to pay OOP, it can be just as stressful jumping through all of the hoops required by insurance. I am pretty confident that my order will be delivered before I leave for my trip to Dr. KK's office on Thursday afternoon. If all else fails I will pay to have it filled and shipped from the original pharmacy that filled my prescription for the wrong amount and if they can't be shipped by Wednesday, I'll have them delivered to my mom's house while I am out of town.

@Twinkie0612 What a mess! Hope everything is straightened out now. I agree, paying OOP was much easier than trying to deal with insurance companies. This is the first cycle I've had coverage and it has been one drama event after the other.
Nurse just called and I'm upping my Follistim dose from 225 to 300. I have a lot of follicles but they are still small after 4 days of stims so they are hoping they grow with the increase. E2 was 132.

Sorry for the delayed response... Friday was crazy... 14 hour day. I had ultrasounds Friday and Sunday and everything is progressing with my estrogen and follicles. My doc added Metformin for some sort of insulin related thing. It's weird because I'm not diabetic...type one or two. And they added vitamin D. They want me to go back tomorrow morning for another ultrasound...early in the AM.

Hello Ladies, sorry for showing this late... my guests have arrived, and I am running and trying to be a good host
ssoennin I have read about this.. not necessarily you need to be diabetic.. but if you are insulin resistant they say that the person can have some kind of resistance to IVF medication.. that's why they recommend Metformin to solve this problem... I read about this because I was wondering if my poor response was caused by this, but unfortunately it was not the case
But don't worry, many ladies around here at the bump take metformin too.
Twinkie0612 at least a good news, they will cover the blood work, and hopefully the Lovenox.. I hate those tricky parts in the insurance, they always have to cause some kind of headache with these exceptions that they don't cover.. why everything has to be so bureaucratic! X(
And why they have a price tool that show you a pharmacy that they don't cover? This is ridiculous!!! I am reading your history and at the same time I want to scream ahhhhh, this is insane!! A total disrespect with the customer!!! And in the end they also used the wrong doctor? If I were in your shoes I would have had a crazy outburst at this point!! I have all my body crossed for you, I really hope they solve this problem soon!
NariaDreaming for my first cycle I didn't have estrogen either.. I am having now because my RE believes that it will make better eggs as my first attempt I had just a few and immature eggs..

Yeah @spring78 you are right, it's definitely worth it.
@cwoodward777 how are you? Feeling better? I hope this cold leave you alone soon!!!
@Giants721 I did endometrin over the summer and never laid down at all afterwards unless I happened to be going to bed. It was fine. :-)
Yay @SweetieShellieH!! I'm glad you get to be a Tiny Turkey!!
Thank you! I've been wearing pantyliners but will try it at work on Tuesday!
Not sure! I started vivelle patches the day after my egg retrieval for my first IVf cycle. This cycle is a FET, so I started vivelle on cd 1.

@Twinkie0612 I'm sorry your order has been such a hot mess. Insurance is definitely a huge hassle. :-P
@ssoennin It sounds like you're chugging along! Good luck at monitoring tomorrow!
ssoennin I have read about this.. not necessarily you need to be diabetic.. but if you are insulin resistant they say that the person can have some kind of resistance to IVF medication.. that's why they recommend Metformin to solve this problem... I read about this because I was wondering if my poor response was caused by this, but unfortunately it was not the case
