So yesterday I went in for my 20 week ultrasound, the baby was healthy 12ounces, 152bpm, everything looked fine. When they did the internal exam in showed that I have a short cervix 1cm when it should be about 3-4, and they found some "sludge" like substance, and also white specks in the amniotic fluid. I have been in the hospital since noon yesterday and last night they gave me progesterone pills that were inserted vaginally. They are considering putting in a stitch so I don't go into labour soon, but they are concerned that this "sludge" and these white specks may be a sign of infection, so I have a specialist coming in at about 4 today to discuss further with me, but I am just very scared that I could lose my baby girl... So my question is has anyone personally gone through this, or knows of someone who has? Because I am absolutely terrified that my little girl might not make it...
Re: Short Cervix, Possible Infection, Hospitalized...
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
