I chose driver's side in my car, and hubs chose passenger side. We had instructions/installation from local police dept as they have a free program for car seat installation and officer said middle is safest but often very difficult to get baby in and out so he sees people choose one side or other.
I'd be curious to know how current parents feel abt middle seat arrangements if they've got it set up with baby in tow.
