I used to really like Dr. Seuss, but having seen the Cat in the Hat cartoon, I have really started to dislike it. Maybe it is Martin Short's weaselly voice with the rhymes, but every word of Seuss, even if I am reading it, grates on me.

Thanks for the check-in @footprint! Hope you are feeling better soon! My first apt last week went well. We saw a flicker of a heartbeat, good rate and even got to hear it a little! What a relief it was, tears of joy! Shortly after though the worry until the next US set in.....

Lost all my symptoms, so afraid I am in the same boat as last pregnancy - another missed miscarriage.

Appointments scheduled
Friday, Oct 31 - bloodwork and urine test were done at intake appt, this will be the first pre-natal appt. I will get results of those tests and will be close to 12 wks so hoping I hear that heart beat.

QotW: What are some of the books that you will insist on reading to your baby?
My favorite as a child was "Good Night Moon" but and Dr Seuss book will do. When older - "The Last Basselope"

AFM, I don't know what my beta was (didn't ask), but they said my numbers looked great. Myscan was great. Baby was measuring right on track at 5w6d, 2mm in length & had a heartbeat of 99 bpm.

Appointments U/S on Friday. I need to call an OB to try to set up an intake appt with them. I'm scared to do it though. I don't want to have to call back & cancel. Guess I'm just gonna have to nut up & do it.

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates My first loss was at 8 weeks, I'll hit that on 11/8. But we've never had a heartbeat this early & we never had one that pregnancy at all, so I kinda feel like I passed that one already even though I haven't technically.

QotW: What are some of the books that you will insist on reading to your baby? Oh geeze, I haven't thought much about this. MH & I are big readers, but it's been a long time since I was around kids books. I should start working on a list though; there are some great ones in this thread.

@footprint I didn't place a call to my doctor yet. Honestly, I don't know what (if anything) they could do at this point. I'm not far enough along for an u/s to show much. I guess they could do betas, but I don't know if that would reassure me all that much. So far today, I haven't had any spotting. I will certainly call if it starts again.

Yay for seeing your baby's heart beat and for hearing it too! It is so amazing that we have the technology to see/hear our babies. There is no sight/sound like it in the world! Congrats! Sorry that PgAL brain sucks. I really have no advice about that except to try and stay with the sounds and images from your u/s.

It is normal for symptoms to come and go throughout your pregnancy and especially throughout the first trimester, not that knowing that makes it any easier to deal with

Will you be able to get an u/s this Friday? I hope that your OB can find your baby's heart beat this Friday, but it is on the early side, so please don't freak out if they can't find it! Let us know how your appointment goes!

I was terrified of my first OB appointment. I just didn't want to go. I hadn't had an u/s before hand and I just figured if I didn't go they couldn't give me bad news, which is pretty childish, but made sense in my head. I didn't think they would be able to tell me anything, but after my pap, my NP said, yep, feels like an eight week pregnant uterus, which made me feel good. Fx for a great u/s on Friday.

Worries (rational or irrational) : Was nauseated like hell all last week. Syptoms are fading away, so that has me worried.

Appointments scheduled: My second appointmen is tomorrow! I was seen earlier last week due to spotting, so I get to go again tomorrow. Spotting has stopped, so looking forward to seeing a stronger heartbeat.

QotW: What are some of the books that you will insist on reading to your baby? I love Cordoury and Curious George.

Worries (rational or irrational): My boobs no longer hurt, exhaustion comes and goes, and I don't have morning sickness yet. So naturally, I'm not optimistic. At all. We have our first U/S Friday and I'm fearful, we'll have a repeat of last time. *PgAL Brain*

Appointments scheduled: Friday!

Upcoming milestones/Loss dates: Nov 12 was our EDD. Checking for HB on Friday.

QotW: What are some of the books that you will insist on reading to your baby?: We're opera singers so we 'll likely play lots of classical music. Haven't thought about books yet!

Sorry I missed the check-in last week! I'm late this week but wanted to post

EDD/Week/Fruit May 15/11w5d/lime

Worries (rational or irrational) I started spotting a couple days ago. I got checked yesterday though and thankfully all is well with baby. OB thinks I may be spotting because the placenta is near my cervix. Cervix is still closed though so i'm just trying to take it easy.

Appointments scheduled OB appt on Monday and sequential screening on Wednesday.

I'm sorry that you have had spotting and I am happy that it has stopped! Symptoms come and go throughout your pregnancy, but it is most noticeable and upsetting in the first trimester. I hope that your appointment tomorrow is great!

I've been watching some Curious George with my 2 yo and I can't figure out why people always leave George alone. The Man in the Yellow Hat is the most irresponsible pet owner, ever!

Welcome to first trimester check-in! I have everything crossed that you have a beautiful heart beat on Friday! I liken going in to u/s like walking to the electric chair. It's so, so scary! Symptoms really do come and go during your pregnancy, but most noticeably in the first trimester. Even though it is totally normal, doesn't make it any less scary, though! Let us know how your u/s goes!

No worries about missing check-in. I am sorry that you had spotting. I'm glad that your doc was able to check you out so quickly and that there is nothing wrong. Did you have the NT scan done since you are having your sequential screening soon? I can't believe you are almost at the end of first trimester! Congrats!

Unfortunately when no heart beat could be found I was given an US and immediately could see there was no heartbeat. I will have a D&C Monday. I know my stay was short here, but hope to return in the near future. Thank you for the support and I wish you all healthy pregnancies.

Worries (rational or irrational) Don't have another appointment for awhile, so just praying this cutie keeps growing. I haven't used my Doppler yet, because I was worried about not finding it and freaking out, but I may try it in a couple days.

Congrats on a great u/s! I'm sure it is nice to know exactly how many are in there! I never ended up getting the Doppler for the reason you mentioned! i hope that you are able to find baby's hb quickly and easily! It seems like most of the women on here are really happy that they have the Doppler.
