Cloth Diapering

recommend an AIO

I apologize if you get this question a lot on this board... I am trying to decide on what type of cloth diapers to buy for daycare.  We use prefolds and covers at home, but when my little guy starts daycare in a few weeks I'd like to send something a little easier.  Our daycare provider has agreed to cloth if it is "easy"... :)

Is there a good All in One that won't break the bank?  Or the types with the inserts?  what do you recommend?  Thanks!

Re: recommend an AIO

  • What about kawaii? They are pockets, but cheap, easy, and well liked.

  • Loading the player...
  • Nikki's bamboo aio , super absorbant good hook and loop. And reasonably priced

  • Kawaii or Alva... but I would stuff them with pockets or flats instead of the inserts that they come with.

My daycare provider is comfortable with trifolding a prefold and laying it on a cover.  It's not rocket science :)

  • you could still do the refolds in daycare if you trifold them (like an insert) and just tell them to lay the insert inside the cover.

for all in ones, my faves are tots bots easy fit.
  • Some of our daycare providers have been able to do snaps, but most of them seem more comfortable with H&L. Our daycare stash is mostly Totsbots Easyfits v4 and Thirsties OS Pockets (Aplix). Probably not the cheapest options out there, but I like the natural fibers they both come with.

You can order Kawaiis from SuperStash without inserts and then stuff with natural fibers of your choice.
  • Another vote for kawaii. Affordable and easy. My DCP loved them.

  • Our local day cares that are willing to do cloth will only use AIO or pre-stuffed pockets. Even if they can do pre-folds, that one extra step than with disposable is apparently too much effort. lol We're planning on doing pre-stuffed pockets for the baby sitters. I haven't tried any of the modern pocket or AIO brands since we just did pro-wraps and prefolds with the first. The stash I have so far are ones that I've made, Jungle Roo (which I like the gussets one), and Lotus Bumz (I'm not excited to use them based on the shape. They aren't as contoured).

I love these but I think these might be one of the more "difficult" AIO's because I always have to roll the legs in.

We are almost AIO exclusive (with some Best Bottoms and a couple pockets) and babysitters seem to find Blurberry Simplex the easiest to put on.

Good to know. Luckily I only got two.
  • They make excellent swim diapers though.

  • Imagine AIOs are pretty good too, however I'm not sure about the H&L on them...but they're pretty cheap.

  • I would definitely not recommend the Imagine AIO in hook and loop. 1) the rise seems pretty short for a OS. My 8 month old is on the biggest rise and it is getting to be a bit short. 2) the top of the PUL above the velcro rolls into diaper so that the strip of velcro rubs on my baby's ample belly. Gives her a mini contact rash every time.

For an affordable option, I'd do a kawaii pocket or thirsties AIO. For expensive, blueberry simplex.

For a second, that looked like Burberry. As in, that fancy expensive British clothing brand.
