@SPurp13 I would ask to speak to the charge nurse or nurse manager about how you've been treated and the nurses' behavior. If those outlets don't work ask to speak to the head of nursing at the hospital. Patients should never be treated how it sounds you've been treated.
Keep working on the breast feeding. It's hard. You are not starving your child. That comment was inappropriate on all levels from that nurse. Can the nurses feed apurp at the nursery so you can get some sleep? Sleep is important.
@SPurp13 -- What dicks. Like PPs, your nurse should NOT speak to you that way. You are not starving your child, and that nurse is ignoring the fact that your having been on iv fluids likely gave your LO an artificially high birth weight to begin with. Do not stress over this weight loss -- you are doing nothing wrong. Keep doing what you're doing, and know that it will get better. ::hugs::
But wouldn't the doctor realize that fact? My husband aid that, too, about her birth weight not being correct.
In either case, the nurse should be leaving in 25 minutes. I've held off of medication for the last hour just because I'll wait for the next nurse to ask for it. Here, you must ask for your medicines and be in charge of them yourself I guess. I've been so late on so many doses. I hate to ask for help and I don't want to beg.
@SPurp13 I'm so sad to hear about the experience you are having at the jailspitol. Hoping you can talk to a day shift nurse with common sense and compassion today to make today more positive then yesterday! Thoughts and prayer to you.

I had to learn the hard way you can't always trust doctors 100%. I was always do what the dr says until I had my son. He was born w IUGR at 5 pounds and was still growing slowly afterward. He'd gain but never by much. We ran all sorts if tests, blood work, fecal work, u/a, Special formula... He just wouldn't gain weight to her approval. Finally she insisted he be sent back to the hospital for a month so they could insert a feeding tube.
It didn't add up. The tests were fine, his development was fine and he always gained - just never by her standards. I changed doctors and they said she was crazy. My son is 22 pounds at 18 months but the new dr isn't worried at the least and says it's common while my previous one had stated she'd never seen a kid gain weight so slowly.
@SPurp13 purp you make me wanna go to that hospital and start laying into people for you! Everyone is correct in that doctors are not always the smartest person in the room. One of my brothers had a lot of health issues and it took a lot of trial and error finding a doctor who could get past the ego to figure out what the issue was. Don't let them make you feel like shit. Totally uncalled for.

T&P's for you!

Don't lose hope
I was wondering if this is a thing. Sometimes it's involuntary. Embarrassing.
