Babymoon

Re: Babymoon

  • We have one "vacation while pregnant" and one "babymoon" in the works.
Every year in December, my husband's company takes the company and one SO to Mexico for 4 days. All expenses paid. Well we already booked our tickets when we found out, so I will be in Mexico, with 1,200 30-40yo men and water at 19 weeks pregnant! Its going to suck not drinking and enjoying all of the perks of a company trip in that sense but I won't complain about a free trip to GORGEOUS water and weather!

As for babymoon, we are going to try to head to Clearwater, FL in Feb for four days over Valentine's Day weekend. We have hotel points and airline points so it makes it affordable. I will be 27 weeks pregnant.
Me & my fiancé actually conceived in Clearwater X_X but I absolutely loved it there! Hope you do as well

  • Our anniversary is New Year's Eve and we booked Disney for that week before I was pregnant. So I guess we'll count that as our babymoon :).
  • Since I'll be off most of the summer, we will def do a beach vacation once baby is here and my oldest is out of school.

I'm really hoping for a long weekend in NYC. That was going to be my 35th bday present but money is just tight. But I would love to go with just hubby and eat my way through the city.

I have a list of my favorite 100 restaurants here.

  • We live in IL but have annual passes for Disney World, so it's a good bet we'll go for that! We have had a Feb. trip planned with my best friend and her husband for almost a year, but I'm not sure if we'll count that as a baby moon. We travel all the time for hubby's work and will be in FL December, Jan, and Feb at the LEAST for his work, so traveling someplace warm is more frequent than "relaxing." We may enjoy some time together at home as a baby moon, though!
  • Going to the Galápagos Islands and Peru at the end of December, beginning of January!! This was a pre-planned trip-but hopefully a lot of relaxing and giant turtle watching in the Galapagos!! Also hoping for smooth travels 22-24 weeks into pregnancy!! Anyone else doing a big multi week international trip??
  • We were supposed to get married this upcoming weekend, but we were impatient and got married in May instead! So what was supposed to be our honeymoon has now turned into babymoon. We'll be spending next week in a romantic cabin in the mountains of Tennessee :)
  • We just booked a trip to Jamaica at a amazing boutique hotel spa. Cant wait!
  • Our "babymoon" is more for our older 3 than for us. We want to take them to Disneyland and stay in a hotel for the week no rushing, enjoying the park. We will probably do it In January.

We went to Puerto Vallarta for our anniversary. It was the most relaxing trip and the closest we have come to a honeymoon, DS3 was with us.

  • We are thinking Big Sur in Feb or March.  :-)
  • I actually plan on saving all my PTO to use in conjunction with my maternity leave. DH has less time than me but he too will save it to use when the baby comes.

I will definitely miss our getaway time together. We usually like to go away twice a year, but for now we'll have to put a hold on that .
