I don't want to call anyone out because I would feel like such a bitch if I were wrong so I don't want to mention any names.
The person I suspect posted that she lost her baby a few months ago. She received a lot of support from everyone and I even added her to the angel baby thread. She then came back claiming to still be pregnant with no mention of her loss story. Her post history doesn't match up. BUT like I said, I would feel like such a bitch if she really lost her baby and I'm saying she is a catfish. She just raises major red flags to me.
Oh yeaah...I've been wondering about that person as well...like what was the story there? Confusing and suspicious!

Yes! And you don't want to ask because the story could be extremely sad OR extremely crazy!!

I hadn't thought of catfish there, just utter confusion, but you may be right. A story was 'supposed' to come but never did.

Sooo this! I thought the exact same thing.
Ditto - even before that, the posts seemed to be just off. But at least they're not on here a ton otherwise I do think the cover would have been blown. But horrible to use a fake loss for attention.
People use a fake loss in retail theft a lot. I would rather people use the story for attention than to further their criminal enterprise. Although both are very very sad behaviors.
came here to confess that I didn't do my 3 hr glucose test yet (going tomorrow) and now I gotta go read that THREAD!!
I have in my mind someone I think is a big phoney baloney, maybe not faking a pregnancy but certainly faking a dramatic backstory. It's too mean to call anyone out by name, and also who cares. If you want to belong to a group so badly and have no friends in real life, the internet is a perfect place for you.
@ssstephanie214 if you're thinking of who I'm thinking...then we're thinking the same thing. (I feel like that crazy statement needs a twitter style hashtag).
Somebody I know IRL and kept up with on Facebook did this recently. She was "due" during the middle of October and not too far into her third trimester she sent me a message saying she had had a late term loss. She then told me this weird story that didn't add up. Come to find out her ultrasound pictures were copied from Google images and mutual friends who saw her in person when she claimed to have been hospitalized said that she had never actually been pregnant.
The whole thing was quite upsetting. I don't know why somebody would carry on a story like that and then use it prey on the sympathies and fears of women who could be or have already been dealing with similar issues. They definitely need professional help though.
That is too sad. I hope that person did get help. Almost like they were asking for it if they were using their real Facebook account rather than a newly created Internet forum identity.
This is a bit long, but I also know someone who faked a pregnancy. She is a very kind woman who also has some mental issues (I suspect low IQ at least; her H too for that matter). She is constantly claiming to be pregnant and them have early miscarriages, which could totally be true but I hope not because almost 20 miscarriages would be more than I think anyone could bear. Then a little while ago she claimed she was pregnant, but when a friend went to visit her husband in the hospital after a surgery he said she wasn't pregnant, while he was super high on pain relievers. So we were always suspicious but didn't want to use that as our conclusive evidence.
She never received medical care but should have for the obvious reasons, as well as being fairly advanced maternal age and her mental issues. Then she and her h decided to move several states away, by bus, a few weeks after her due date. Her due date passed and a few weeks went by... One very concerned woman who was giving her the benefit of the doubt kept asking people to pray that she'd have the baby since she was 3+ weeks overdue until the "pregnant" woman asked her to stop saying "I was five weeks over due with my first, this is nothing". Finally, they moved and she cut off anyone who didn't believe her story from Facebook, but posted one picture of a baby that was clearly a google image search baby.
I don't know what motivated her to fake a pregnancy, but it was one of the weirdest things I've ever witnessed/experienced. I'm just glad I wasn't shocked or disappointed in the end.
I kept wanting to share this but want because it wasn't Friday anymore... But oh well! FFFC lives on! I guess my confession would be I was relieved she was faking because if she wasn't then I'd be scared for the future of the baby she and h would raise.

The End.
