Trying to say the dogs name!?

So today LO was looking at our dog and smiling. She is obsessed with the dog and always tries to put her face in his hair. We are learning to pet nice but anyway, she's looking and smiling at him and I said bruiser b b b sound and after a couple times doing this and pointing to him she goes boo boo then we come into the living later and she sees him and without any prompt she says boo boo again I tell my husband this and we both say look bruiser and she says boo. I think he might steal her first word. But she's only 5 months. Talking already!? She has not made da da or ma ma sounds even just in general. Mostly just ahh in different pitches. Anyone else's little one trying to say words while looking at things? Maybe it was just a coincidence.

That's adorable! Our DD likes watch our dog run around and is becoming very fascinated with him. Only word like sounds she's making is mummy or mum....DH is convinced she knows she's saying mom. I don't think so yet but it's still cute.

  • Ummm... No.. I think they like to immitate at this age but nope. Maybe mama or dada which is common but I wouldn't think my little Einstein is speaking as of 5.5 months quite yet.. Cute though!
  • I have no idea what babies can and can't do at this age but babies + animals = cute! All my DD says is GEEEEEE!!!!
  • No, but DD1's first word was dada, followed by woof woof, duck, moo, then mama!

  • DH and I were just talking about this last night. Sometimes I feel like she's saying 'good' or 'hi' or 'ya' but her being this young even if she's sounding out those words/sounds I'm sure it's not with any purpose or understanding. Still fun to hear though!
  • Lexi has been saying mamamamamam and dadadadada. I don't think it is specifically to us, just trying to mimick with we say.
