Love the little victories.

Today we took the kids apple picking for the first time in a year. When we went last year dd walked around and enjoyed it for maybe 5-10 minutes before we had to carry her the rest of the time. Much of the time she was trying to eat the apples off the ground vs picking them off the tree which we were constantly redirecting but she kept going back to. She fought us to wear shoes and a coat. She did a little talking but not very much. This year we told her once to not pick the apples off the ground and she listened. We were there 40 minutes, she was walking solo the whole time carrying her own bag, picking apples off the tree and talking up a storm. She didn't fight to wear a coat and shoes and when she lost her shoe we directed her to put it back on and she listened. It's rough when we compare her to same age peers but its awesome to look back and see how much she's grown/how things are getting easier. Of course we got snapped back to reality really quick while she sorted apples from largest to smallest and counted them while her brother went on a ride. I'll take what I can get though. :)
