Just lost 20 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Glad we don't have trolls over here!
In other news, I just ate the most delicious steak with lobster sauce from outback. I am SO full but my body keeps telling me to go to the store and get some chocolate ice cream. But I have GD so it's a no go. I just wanna cry inside!!! It's not fair! ( Stupid GD.
Okay, I totally support the board being nicer to newbies and answering innocent questions with sunshine and rainbows, I really do. I've been better! But I just couldn't answer seriously with the bath toy question. I mean, how does one clean a simple toy that's made to get wet? It's not rocket science.
I hope I get a big ol harpie whoreknight meanie pass tonight.

@absolutelymaybe I haven't even opened the bath toy thread. I can understand the anxiety on medical issues, but cleaning bath toys? I hear those things shouldn't get wet.
So...who wants to volunteer for the N14 Welcome Wagon? Your job will be to welcome all new posters to our board by throwing glitter, confetti, and offering them a decaf pumpkin spice latte or milkshake.
I hadn't opened the bath toys thread, but the idea didn't seem outlandish to me, since they DO get kind of nasty after a lot of use. I went in to possibly mention the trick of hot gluing the holes shut so they don't get so mildewy. Then I saw she meant new bath toys........oh.........lol.

Finally started putting the big things together so now our living room has a swing and pnp and the rnp is in our room. Finally hitting me she's coming some time in the next 4 weeks. Might be time to get her room finished and clothes washed.
I feel like we are being tested. Not sure if we are passing or failing...
So not ok with the insensitive post on the cord thread. @heisenberg and @MrsG1019 , I'm glad you ladies called one of us out on our BS reply.
It's my Monday, maybe that's why I'm a little cranky?? Ok, off to shower and get ready for work. Have a beautiful day, Mamas!
I'm cranky too. I have no patience with that woman. Maybe I need a bump time out.
That and also seeing the trigger that post was for @aragosta ... And then to not have anything more important to add(since she has already left the first very nice and helpful comment on there) but to still feel the need to go back and leave another comment and be insensitive wasn't cool.
I come into the boys' room to find this. He *never* did this with DS2.
This isn't the theme we're going with, just leftover for now from DS.
I think my cats are just too old and/or fat to jump up into the crib now. One is 13 and the other is 10 and overweight. With the 3 other kids, I gave up trying to keep them out of it and just kept a blanket over the sheets until the baby came home.

Hi ladies! Sorry I'm so late to this, catching up now.
We're finally all moved into our new place. Still tons of unpacking to do, but we pulled it off! Main goal was to be settled here before the baby girls made their appearances.
In the midst of the move, I started feeling crappy w/ a fever & raging sore throat. Decided to get checked out @ the minute clinic just to be safe. Turns out I have strep... gross. Feels like the antibiotics are already kicking in though.
Here's an AW "it's sort of coming together?" nursery pic. Clearly still a disaster zone, but today's project is organizing the boxes/clutter
I only have a couple pair of maternity pants that fit well....and my maternity support belt is soooo blown out. Really trying not to keep buying more stuff though. Ugh

I was actually really impressed/surprised by her first comment there. It seemed so out of character. I thought maybe she was turning over a new leaf. Then of course she had to ruin it with the second comment. Loved the backup from @heisenberg, @MrsG1019 and @silverwings72.

I think she just likes being a dick. Where is @FirstBabyDoyle with that gif...
I think when people say be nicer to newbies, they mean the ones that are genuine. Honestly, that 33 week post was... Interesting. Maybe just tone it down a bit and don't bring the bitch immediately but make it a fun, snarky, gif party? I'm having trouble finding a balance too. I want to be nicer but some of them make is really hard :-??
Good afternoon ladies! Hope everyone is having a good Sunday
I won $70 playing poker last night, slept until almost 9am (aside from waking up to pee and another terrible leg cramp), had buffalo chicken dip for breakfast, and cuddled with my kitties.
About to take a shower and something popped in my head. This may be a post for the newbie play date thread but I'll throw it out here. What if your water breaks when you're in the shower...will you know? ) I'm sure it would be followed with cramping or something so you'd know something was happening. Just a silly thought I had
I want to read the D14 thread for the responses as I am sure its entertainment but have zero desire to see the picture....to read or not to read....oh the decisions....

I feel like we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. We try to be nicer and we still get told we're mean. I kind of get why it's almost easier to start off snarky or with a funny gif than try to answer their question seriously.
@FhSTAR81 I am around but the dang nurses interrupt my bumping time.
But I am getting discharged today, finally. I am excited to see the outside world after 8 weeks of bedrest.
James is stuck here for at least 4 more days. But the next 2 are under the bili lamps. So, I am trying to fight the mommy guilt and get some me stuff done (since I can't hold her often).
@FhSTAR81 You are due for some insane amounts of TLC and relaxation for at least the rest of the year. Or as much as possible with Addison and LO about to join the mix. Big hugs to you for keeping it together through all of the struggles.
@LongIslandMama1114 Probably fair game for the Newbie Play date thread but I'll share my FTM level of understanding here because I'm feeling lazy When your water breaks it tends to either be a slow trickle (if the break is high in your uterus) which you'd probably still be experiencing after you finish showering, or a big gush (if the break is low near your cervix) which should be noticeable shower or not. Also, if your not sure if it's "other" leakage I was told levels should stop everything except amniotic fluid from leaking.
Now AW time! Posting a picture of our young pup resting post-race with her bandana still on after our 5k this morning. Probably my last race until 2015 (hopefully not my last run...) and figured it was good mom and daughter time even if she did pull on the leash for 90% of the run! Plus, the race was called the K-9 Canter, I would of felt SO guilty going without her.

You must be excited to get out though. How is James doing? Are they thinking she can be discharged after those 4 days?
I am excited for half normalcy.
She is doing amazing. She is gaining weight everyday. Exceeding the expected feeding levels. All her blood work is good, minus slight jaundice. They are going to evaluate her body temp regulation for a couple days after her bili lamp time. It is a real possibility that she could be out before next week.
Where the hell is everyone today??? Y'all aren't being productive or having an outside life or having babies are you???
DH and I went through the laundry room and kitchen... Now every nook and cranny of this place has been gone through. I love getting rid of stuff and organizing. We are ready for this baby (although he needs to cook a little longer first).
I am super annoyed at work right now. Someone offered to take my call shift for me Tuesday (working 3 12 hour shifts a week is getting hard enough, let alone a 4th one). Apparently they won't let her pick up my call shift unless I want to work one another day. I don't know if it's because we are so busy... but I am very unhappy. Earlier this year when another coworker was pregnant she gave up almost all her call shifts. Not very fair, but whatever. At least my coworker that offered to work my call shift picked up extra that day, so I'll be a little less likely to work. We'll see... we've had a lot of 23-28 week babies born lately, so it's busy with little/sick babies.

@Kllopez1221 - wow your nursery looks awesome. Want to come and help me finish mine?
Today is the last day of our babymoon. We head home tonight and get home tomorrow morning. My amazing husband booked us the first class pods home with our points so I get to lay down with my feet up the whole 5.5 hour flight!! As much as we enjoyed Maui I'm really excited to get home and finish all the baby stuff we need to do and then it's baby time!
I'm Here! Just got thru folding 6 loads of laundry that have been waiting for me for over a week -- the downside of having a bed in the guest room that I can toss clean laundry in, Close the door & pretend it's not there. It was getting a tad outta hand tho....so I had to buckle down & get it folded.
@Kllopez1221 the nursery looks awesome!!! Love the framed maternity pictures in there!! & the Crepes .... Look delish! I'm gonna blame you when I decide to make Crepes for lunch & get the side eye from DH

Depends on the type.
A slow leak like I had with DS at first I would not have noticed at all in the shower. I noticed because I was saturating a panty liner every hour or so.
My water later broke on it's own in L&D and there is no way I could have missed that even in the shower. (TMI alert) Just like you know when you pee in the shower, it felt like I peed a bladder and a half completely involuntarily and uncontrollably.

@MrsC430 your nursery looks to be in a better state then mine. I'm impressed with how much you have unpacked and ready already.
While I'm super excited my parents bought a weekend home 2 minutes away from us, the things I now have to check out for my mother are crazy. No one really needs Corian counter tops in their weekend kitchen. I love her and knew it would be like this until the house is finished being fixed up but dang the internet is not that hard to work.
In-laws are here and MIL asked my husband what hospital we're delivering at. He told her and she said "Okay, because we need to know where to go, because as soon as we get the call we'll be there." "We" refers to MIL and her 94-year old mother, who drives hubby and me mad.
Umm...we aren't having anyone there. Hubby is going to have to manage this. Or maybe we just won't call until the baby is born and we're all settled back at home ready for visitors.
@FhSTAR81 I was off being productive had some of our maternity pictures developed, went to target bought some frames, and now they are hung in the nursery . Then I made myself creeps for breakfast.
I am so jealous of your productivity AND crepes! I may have slept til noon.....my excuse is that I finally got comfortable around 7 and really needed the sleep. Now hanging out on the couch watching football, no excuse for that
