For some of us late comers to the group , as maybe it has been discussed before. What do you do for a living? ( or what did you do pre-baby, or what are you in school for, or what will you be returning to?)
I am a health care assistant. I work in a seniors facility on the complex care floor. The majority of my residents are severely demented or are full care with lifts etc.
I was a flight attendant. There was no feasible way to make it work post-baby, so now I'm a SAHM. As of recently I've been doing some photography for friends and family and the little bit of extra cash has been nice.
I am in advertising. Do a lot of cause marketing campaigns that i love but it is definitely hard balancing this and baby. Not a 9-5 job for sure and I often have to work after she goes to bed. I daydream about staying at home but we could never afford it.
Joi922 not working for a law firm is the ticket. I have a very good work life balance working for a company as opposed to a law firm. There have been 7 babies born just in the last 4 years just in my department alone and we are a small group so there is a lot of flexibility and understanding from the other groups I work with.
I'm a hairdresser. I work part time and hope to have my own salon either at home or close by before we have #2 so the kids can be at work with me. We wouldn't be able to afford child care for 2 kids. And can't afford for me to quit either.
I was searching for a full time job when I got pregnant so I did a few temporary assignments and then got a full time job at Target. I took a break for 3 months after having LO and then worked part time at Target until June. I have been a soccer coach for 5 years. Right now I am looking to get back into a professional setting as an administrative assistant. Financially I need to be working in some capacity to help cover our student loans but balancing that with DC needs is rough.

I was a Fraud Investigator for a private company. The company was bought out right as we were getting married and I knew kids were next on the agenda so I did not try to find another job.
RN at a large hospital. I've been working in the same surgical specialty for 4+ yrs and need a change (particularly after getting attacked by a patient a couple weeks ago). I have word in with the manager of the NICU/mother baby/pediatrics float pool for a position when one eventually comes available.
I am a speech language pathologist specializing in geriatric. I love my job and it's nice with LO now because it is very flexible. Only downside is we work all holidays, even the big ones usually short days but still!
I am a certified elementary teacher and English as a second language teacher but there are next to no positions ever where I live in western pa. I only sub when H has off every other Friday because otherwise I would work to pay for daycare and probably wouldn't even make enough to cover day care. So SAHM mostly.

I was in accounts receivable and customer service for an automotive electronics company for 7 years before LO. I decided being a SAHM was right for us, shortly after LO was born.
@triplea598 I love my job. Each state is a little different as far as what is in our scope of practice. I carry out all treatments after their initial evaluation. The hours are great and it's very rewarding. The pay is fairly good, my sister is a hygienist, she makes more per hour but has had a hard time finding a full time position. I have good benefits and found a full time position right after I finished school. Good Luck, both are great careers.

I worked at an advertising agency. I worked on monthly ad campaigns and dealt with our clients on a daily basis. Sahm now.
