This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently pregnant.

 

If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include you EDD and how many beans you have cooking.

Q: If you could be a doctor what specialty would you be in and why?

 

BabyKsMommy - EDD 12.3.14- 9/30-Just had my reg OB appt today at 31 wks tomo. We saw the babies practice breathing on the u/s. They are doing great and the ob said I'm growing some big babies. 

I just ordered DDs dresser and it should be in this weekend. I can't wait to start washing and putting little clothes away. 

 

Blueberries8-9/2-Currently 7w4d with twins. I continue to have on/off bleeding from the SCH. I had another ultrasound on Wednesday and the SCH is measuring slightly bigger. I had a RE appointment on Thursday and my RE is shocked that I got pregnant with twins from this cycle and he is very concerned about the possibility of a very preterm birth due to my history and the current bleeding (also had chronic bleeding in my previous twin pregnancy which eventually resulted in premature rupture of membranes, likely due to the blood wearing down the amniotic sac). He even mentioned the possibility of reduction, not because he is recommending it per se but because he wanted it to be on my radar screen.

 

ccam - EDD 11.29.14 – 9/30-31w4d today!  Less than 8 weeks left until my RCS   With getting last minute baby stuff ready (which in our case is pretty much everything!) and my sister's wedding in a few weeks, I think it's going to fly by.  Today I can officially say that we will be a family of 4 next month!

 

Ducky719-EDD 3/8/15 -9/30-Only update i have is yesterday was part 2 of my sequential screening. Now i just wait! Monday is my next OB appt...and 3 weeks until a/s!! I am dying to see baby and hopefully find out gender!! My blood work from Monday came back with the lowest possible chances of downs, tri & neural tube defects!      My heart seriously skipped a beat when I saw the number on my phone because the girl told me it would take 10 days for my final results.  But all is well.

 

Itsmevkb-9/30-I'm 9 weeks and had an ultrasound yesterday.  The baby was measuring 5 days ahead and had a good heartbeat so I was happy.  My spotting has stopped.  I go back in three weeks for a NT scan and to get my cervix measured.

 

Jenny935-9/30-I'm 17w1d. Last week at 16w1d I woke up spotting. I know, I know, "spotting is totally normal" and blah blah blah. But I decided to stay home from school and call to make an appt to get checked. That's when I miss the RE and people who actually answered phones! My OB is like "if you're losing a limb, leave a message in box 1. If you're dying, leave a message in box 2," etc. 

Kdfecarie, EDD 8/29/14 (CS 8/22/14) 7/22 sorry its been a while life is crazy here right now, and i dont see it letting up till maybe november! 35 weeks now, and baby will be here in 26 days! I cant believe its so soon!!! Been rough with contractions and sickness making a return... Only a few more weeks!

 

KDR1919- EDD 4/16/15-8/12 I'm very early, 5 weeks tomorrow. EDD 4/16/15. My ultrasound is scheduled for 8/25. I'm still taking estradiol and progesterone 3 x daily. I don't feel pregnant and this doesn't seem real yet! It is hard to believe that it took 12 embryos over 5 transfers to get my twins and this pregnancy is from 1 single frozen embryo?!?

 

KMC84-EDD4/11/15-9/30-12w3d today! I'm able to eat meat and veggies again! Hooray! Still exhausted beyond belief..... NT scan this Thursday! DH will be there and he hasn't seen the bean since our first u/s. NT scan was good! Very busy baby in there!

 

LuvBoston, EDD 3/9/15- 9/30-Had an OB appt today. Baby was wiggling and jiggling and fine. However I did lose my mucus plug so we are on the watch for preterm labor. My blood sugars are too low so have to go back to endocrine doc. 

 

mdiblasi10 –EDD 1/30/15- 9/30-I'm in Florida on vacation, so just checking in really quick on my phone  Not much to update. Everything is great. Baby girl is SO active, just like her brother was. I made it through 5 days of Disney Parks in the crazy humidity, rain and miles of walking! It was fun and G really, really enjoyed himself. 

Mayzie15- EDD 2/01/15- 9/30-21 weeks and had an appt with my OB appt all looks good. Had my flu shot. GD test in 6 weeks, Rogham shot, iron levels check, and pertussis shot. 

 

Mnerani – 9/2-Headed to 36 weeks this weekend! I have just started to feel big, slow, and tired- the lovely end of third tri. Our shipment from Kenya is going to be delivered to our house on Saturday (!) which is the last big, move-related "to do" before the baby arrives. Once we get all of that stuff moved in, I know I'm going to be like "OK, baby- time to meet your family!"

 

Pennylane26 -Boy EDD 11.26.14 –9/30- Still hanging in there. The nursery is officially done! Just have some art work to hang. It's so surreal to have a little BOY room in our house. It's making me very excited. I have an OB appointment tomorrow and MFM u/s next week. Weekly appointments are a bit much, it's so tough bringing G, my mom has been taking her a lot.

 

srveatch –9/30-31 weeks tomorrow. Time has flown by with this pregnancy! DH has been working hard on DD's new room and will start the nursery right afterwards. I really hope we finish in time. I am in full out nesting mode. 

Robeano-EDD 2/3/15- 9/30-22 weeks. Feeling okay, I've been a bit under the weather the past week so that's not helping at all. Nothing new, no appointments for a while so status quo for me right now

23 weeks. So close to V day!!! Baby is moving around a lot, awesome. I'm starting to get uncomfortable at night and sleeping has started to suffer, not awesome. My only saving grace is afternoon naps for Hannah and I. 

QOTW: (good question BTW, made me think). I think I'd chose ear nose and throat. I know weird choice. But I had a TON of ear infections growing up, and had to get tubes done. It was only after we saw an ear nose and throat specialist that we sorted things out.

Question for you ladies, toys. Me and other people have bought Hannah many toys. I'm having another girl. I don't even know how to "split" or share those toys. I mean some were bought as a Christmas or birthday gift to Hannah and part of me feels weird making it a joint toy. Any thoughts?

Update:  I'm 32w 3d today.  Not much to update besides the fact that I'm really slowing down.  I've been sick for the past week and it's wearing me out.  I did make some progress in the nursery this past weekend, which was a plus.  My sister's wedding is next Friday and I can't wait for it to be over so I can focus on baby stuff and getting our house ready!

QOTW:  I don't know that I could ever be a doctor!!    If I HAD to pick, I guess pediatrics.

Well with any pregnancy everything is going fine till it isn't. On friday i started leaking fluid and am now on hospital bed rest till I deliver. If the babies don't come by 35 wks then they will induce. Today I'm 31w6d so Im really hoping these babies stay put for a while longer. I have had the steroid shots for their lungs and they are pumping be full of antibiotics to try to prevent an infection. So 5 days of hospital bed rest down, hopefully a few more weeks to go!

QOTW: Maybe a NICU dr. But I don't know.

Update: 32 weeks and not.sleeping.at.all! I'm so ready for this baby to arrive. I will say, though, I am really treasuring this one on one time with DD, I know it don't last forever and I'm a little teary thinking about it! I have an u/s on Thursday, but not much else going on.

QOTW: I would definitely do peds, specifically neonatal care for newborns/infants. I find it so fascinating, although I can imagine losing an infant is so hard.

@robeano - sharing is caring! G will share all of her toys. Ditto ducky that loveys/binkys are off limits, but toys in general will be for everyone.

18 weeks today! Things seem to have calmed down which makes me happy. I was able to go to a playoff Orioles game last weekend and even with the walking from the parking garage and lots of standing and cheering, I didn't spot. Woohoo! 

QOTW: Other than the whole it was my body and it wasn't cooperating, I really enjoyed the science side of the RE. I think I'd enjoy that. My office of the big RE has a physician's assistant who does everything except ERs and ETs. I think I'd like that. Maybe in my next life!

@robeano I don't know the gender of #2 yet, but I'm planning on sharing toys. Pretty much everything we have right now is gender neutral or sports or cars, which I'm sure a girl would play with if that was the case. I'm also planning on some things like our toddler sized activity garden/play house thing disappearing and then reappearing for baby #2 at some point. I'm 2.5 years older than my little brother and I don't remember there being a lot of toys that weren't both of ours. (Other than the stuff we just weren't interested in of the others like Barbies or whatever.) My parents did buy doubles of somethings - when we wanted skateboards in elementary school they bought 2 of the same ones rather than 2 designs to eliminate fighting

Babies are both doing great which is why they are still in at this point. But Ive been having some bleeding episodes and now some contractions so its just really wait and see. Thanks for all the well wishes!

I always love reading everyone's pregnancy updates but why does it make me miss being pregnant ?? Lol I had horrible pregnancies and swore 3mo ago after I had DD that we were done and couldn't go through it all again. Haha

@BabyKsMommy‌ - thinking good thoughts that your babies will continue to bake longer.

@Robeano‌ I've had the same thought. My little guy isn't really attached to any toys and being in daycare has helped him share just about everything. I'm hoping this will continue when his new brother his here.

Update I can't believe I'm 23 weeks! I have an icky cold but other than that I'm doing really well.

QOTW I couldn't be a doctor the sight of blood and it's over for me lol

Thanks for your input ladies. It was helpful. I guess I'm such a private/my stuff is mine kinda person I feel like my kids will be that way too lol. I dunno, I just remember growing up my sister and I really didn't share toys... But I obviously don't remember the early years so I bet we did. I imagine once they hit 5 they will start having their own toys. 

Man things are so different when you plan for number two, that is something I wasn't expecting. I assumed it would be the same. But I have so many new questions and ideas and wow. I'm excited but it's all new territory!

I'm 18 weeks2 days and still having stomach issues and cramping at night. Also it hurts to wear pants like my lower abdomen hurts has anyone ever had this?
My MFM cancelled my a/s for this week so have to wait until next week.

Q: I would be a pedi cardiologist and geneticist. My sister has multiple birth defects and I would want to be able to help kids and their families figure out what they have and fix it. It meant the world to us that my sister had a top cardio on her side.

13w4d today! Pregnancy wise everything is going as it should unfortunately, my DH brought home the plague (very nasty cold). He is getting better, A only had it for 2 days (thank god!), and I am feeling horrid can't eat, can't sleep at night, headaches, terrible sore throat, fever, crazy congestion....it just won't quit!! I'm miserable

QOTW: pediatric endocrinologist. I have type 1 diabetes and have spent lots of time teaching kids about managing their diabetes at a summer camp. I love helping them understand and it's so rewarding to see such a hard lifetime diagnosis become something they can control and understand.

Update: I am 32 weeks. Growth scans have been going great. Baby boy doesn't care at all that he has a two vessel cord. I am carrying him very low and starting to see my legs and feet swelling but BP is doing well. I am traveling for work next week and I am a little nervous about it. I just want to stay close to home and I am dreading spending time away from A. We only have limited time left just me and her . I couldn't be a Dr, no blood for me!

Update on us- 32 weeks today! And today was my babies' birthday. I had been on hospital bed rest since Friday because Baby A's bag was leaking. I went into active labor yesterday but the contractions weren't bad. The Dr decided to check me and felt feet. So I was rushed for a C-section. 

Baby A- little boy weighed 3lbs 14oz

Baby B-little girl weighed 4lbs 3oz

They are doing fabulous in the NICU and have been breathing room air from birth. I am so in love with these little babies and can't wait to take them home. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancies!

Thanks ladies! I was discharged today and am glad to be back at home with DS, he certainly missed his mommy. All the nurses and Drs keep saying how well the twins are doing, so Im hoping to have them home in a few weeks.
