Question: why do people with an excess of PTO come in to work while they are sick especially knowing you work directly with a pregnant person... My next door cube mate at work came in late and I tried to be nice and ask her what's going on... Her response... I think I have a virus. Then WTF are you here.. I have no vacation time cause I just started and I can't get sick with this LO growing inside of me... Ughhhhh so mad...

Hopefully your LO will like naps again. When DS started head start this year, I was nervous it would throw off his nap schedule since they don't take naps at school (half day). It actually works out perfect. He is tired after school, he sleeps most of the time he is with MIL. I pick him up by 3:30 and he is my happy, non-grouchy child (except I'm the one who needs a nap). Maybe being at daycare will tired him out to where he will need a nap. Good luck!

DS just switched over to the preschool program last month. They don't require naps, but encourage "quiet time", so he sometimes naps and sometimes doesn't. He fell asleep at the dinner table on Saturday night with no nap - IMO he still needs to nap, but I guess I can't force him. I was hoping to get at least another year out of nap time. Oh well I guess.

Ugh, I know how you feel. There is this lady at church that is super hug-gy. Anyway, she always runs up to me and rubs my "public property" and I'm to nice to tell her anything. She is new and I don't want to be rude to her.  Well after she hugged me and kissed my cheek, I ask how she is doing. Her reply "Oh, I've been sicker than a dog for about a week. I feel like I am dying, my whole family is sick". I take a step back and think, "Why are you here?? Why are you touching me???". Ugh it bugs.

Thank you. I have no idea. I was annoyed that something that sharp was in our yard though. DH couldn't see the cut at first. Max wouldn't let him, but he was running around and not crying, so that's why DH didn't think it was that bad.

I have been so out of the loop.  Work has been crazy for me and I haven't been bumping at all.    

DH's transmission in his truck blew last week and we really didn't need that right now with him in school full time.  Our choices were to fix it for $2K or just buy a beater that he would hate.  We were hoping to replace his truck in a year, so instead of buying a beater for a year we put $2K into the truck.  There went the cash I had been saving during the summer for baby stuff.  

We did go register this weekend and DH had a blast test driving strollers.  

This should probably wait for FFFC, but since you could all probably use a laugh on a Monday morning...this weekend DH and I were having festivities and I snissed on him.  Then I started laughing uncontrollably b/c what else are you going to do?  Needless to say, total mood killer.

We saw Cabaret - Alan Cumming was AWESOME soooo awesome. Michelle Williams was only ok - the character she played had an annoying voice/accent - which I am pretty sure was how it was supposed to be, but it was hard to dissociate Michelle's talent from the annoyingness of the character - also she isn't that great of a singer. 

I saw him in it 16 years ago he is amazing.  Studio 54 is a really cool theater too.  Hope you enjoyed yourself.

@sugahcookie01 yes thank you so much for de-railing the circ thread.  Had to put my last $.02 in it but I'm glad its over.

@kkleigh10 I was watching the game and they showed a small clip of the video and then showed Devon Stills crying.  It made me cry and that was all I saw, I can only imagine being there.  Also, I'm a Bengals fan, so some of the crying may have been because of how HORRIBLY we played!!

I am pissed at a woman that works for me this AM.  I kind of want to fire her, but I know I'm over reacting.  She helped me train some new people that came in last year because she's been with the company for 7 or 8 years and I had already trained her on this particular project.  Well, she told them to book all freight not on a purchase order to this one cost code, told them that was a freight cost code.  Only it's NOT!!  There is no freight cost code and I never told her any such thing!  I said to book any freight to the cost code used on the purchase order!  Now I have to go back through a year's worth of postings to this particular cost code to figure out what belongs and what doesn't.  FML.  I know for most people parts of this make no sense, but I feel better getting it out.

Daily laughs: we're outside painting and DS is drinking from my coffee cup. The neighbors must think I'm nuts but it's only hot cocoa with marshmellows.

DH has been growing facial hair. It's hilarious because he comes from a pretty hairless family. He used to go 3 days without shaving because it just didn't grow. Everyone hates it but he is insisting that he get enough facial hair to style. Its been growing since June (my birthday was his last shave) and last night he runs out of the bathroom to show me that can twist the very ends of his mustache and goatee to a point. He was so proud of that accomplishment.

@kkleigh10 I caught the very end of the video on TV and the clip of the Bengal player crying. So emotional! I can't imagine being there and seeing the whole video. I would have been sobbing. I'm crying right now just thinking about it.

I found out on Friday that my co-worker, who is due in February also, got some scary news at her A/S. They, "didn't see everything that they wanted to see with the baby's heart", and are sending her to the University Hospital for a Level 2 ultrasound and possible fetal echo. It's eerily similar to the news we got at Claire's A/S. My co-worker swears she saw 4 chambers, so I told her to stay positive and hope for the best. I'm glad I can be here for her. I know how it is when all you want is to talk to someone that's been there.

I have my A/S today at 1:30! I've been horribly unproductive at work. Also my baby picked today to start kicking strongly enough to be seen AND he/she's been kicking up a storm today. I'm in love! Lol.

Our niece stayed with us on Sat night. She is 3 and DS is 2. It was exhausting having 2 kids. We are in for it now.

Back at work today, and I don't want to be here. It's hot as hell and I'm over it.

Just got back from my fetal echo... Everything looks great with Dolce's heart. No cause for concern and he is getting so big and being so active. 

I had a contraction at the doctors office and didnt even know it, they had to tell me what was happening. 

Dolce is measuring about 12 inches, and 1lb 5oz

When I told her no that I wanted to wait until I was further along in my pregnancy to announce publically, she got pissed and told DH I was being rude. I'm sorry, my uterus, my business, would you like me to share your personal business with everyone? And she announced my engagement before I got to tell my family about it (it was a sensitive issue, and her announcement on facebook just made things soooo much better 8-| ). I understand she gets excited about things, but yeah, this isn't just because she's excited. I would say I'll make sure for future things she's the last to know, but that would never fly with DH - they're best friends, and family means everything to him, so I'll always look like I'm being petty. Sounds like she needs to learn her place and what isnt it. If something isnt directly happening to her then its not her place to announce it. I dont understand why she thinks its her job to anjounce your engagement or pregnancy. Who does that?

All sunshine and roses here today, besides not wanting to be at work. The weather was beautiful this weekend - slept with windows open Sat and Sun nights - the girls had an amazing race day Sat ( pic of them beating the adult team below )and DH finally felt this little boy move!

I need advice.

TL:DR - I don't know what to do about my husband's weight issue. (Read before you judge)

DH has always had body image issues because he's always been the "chubby kid". Over the past week he's started eating twice as much as usual and I'm worried about how the weight gain will affect him emotionally and mentally. He's Apap been drinking a lot more. He's had a beer or two every night and gets one night a week he'll drink a 6 pack on his own. The drinking isn't a problem because it isn't excessive and he never actually gets drunk or has a problem going without alcohol for weeks on end but not only does he eat more when he drinks but beer is also full of empty calories. He was 220 at 5'10 when I started this pregnancy but I don't know what he weighs now because he won't let me see. I only know his before weight because I was in the room during his last physical.

What should I do? Say something? Ignore it? I just want him to be happy and love himself. I feel terrible for thinking about it at all. I don't even want to post this because I feel like insensitive jerk but I'm so afraid he'll get depressed if he gains too much weight.

@foxslaw‌, I've already completely changed the way we eat to a healthier type menu. I think he just eats too much. He always has seconds and thirds and dessert. I had to stop keeping small snacks in the house in the being of the pregnancy because he would eat an entire bag of chips in 2 days or would find my hidden stash of sweets and eat most of it. The most we could do at this point is cut out pasta and cream based sauces. Our menu is baked chicken over rice or pasta 95% of the time. What's worse is that he's been sympathy craving taco bell so we have taco bell almost once a week (yet he gets mad when my Arby's cravings kick in). We spend our weekends out in town walking through stores or going to parks non-stop. There's not much more that I feel like I can do.

@musicgirl524‌ that's how I handled it before DS. I talked to him about it and he lost his mind about how someone who has always been skinny would never understand. He doesn't believe that I was bullied for being underweight as a teen and that it wasn't something I could help. Talking to him in even the kindest manner would cow across as "you're a fat cow" to him. I think I may try telling him to go workout in the garage to help him think and de-stress after work or on the weekends. I've already insisted that one dinner a week is a salad but that doesn't do any good when he chases it with ice cream and cookies.

Sounds like you're already doing the best you can! I feel for you & you shouldn't feel like a jerk. Is there a third party (whom you both know) who could maybe give him an outside perspective? @jennjilljoite‌

Usually I mention that his brother has been working out lately and looks good since the 2 of them are in competition to not be the "fat one" but I hate doing that for so many reasons. That isn't working though which means DH is beyond a point I've seen him before. It probably doesn't help that he blames me for all his weight gain. He was 180 when we meet and steadily put on weight until he hit 200 after we got married because he wasn't working out 6 hours a day any more. I'm at a loss at this point and I don't know anyone who could mention anything without him getting offended and staying mad at them for a long time.

@jenjilljoite that is a tough one. Maybe you could make less food so there isn't enough for him to have seconds and thirds, and also limit the amount of dessert food in the house? My DH used to eat the biggest bowls of ice cream I'd ever seen. I got him in the habit of using smaller bowls and we also buy pint sizes of ice cream so there isn't as much available to eat.

My a/s is tomorrow! Ahhh I can hardly concentrate at work.

@jennjilljoite - Tough situation. Has he been eating more lately? You mentioned the sympathy cravings. I wonder if he is a little anxious about the baby and is comfort eating? Not that that information is very useful, but maybe you could try to see if something has been bugging him (in a way that does not target his eating). If there is something on his mind, maybe talking about it will decrease the over eating without you ever needing to explicitly target his eating habits. Just a thought.

That's a good idea, @freegiraffe‌. I hate the idea of cooking every single day but that would limit his intake to some extent (he could always get up and make more food for himself). I think I'll try that.

Thanks, @musicgirl524‌. He loves health, fitness and working out so I tried to convince him to get certified as a personal trainer but he wants a job that positively contributes to the human condition through science (he's such a nerd). He was going to gain regardless of marrying me or someone else. No one can have a personal relationship, a job and work out like that. my part was not wanting to eat canned tuna fish, cranberry salad and steamed chicken breasts for every single meal. Thanks for the support.

I've been harboring this really irrational grudge against the bump for a couple weeks now, but just have to get it off my chest.  I'm 22 weeks - in what universe is a pomegranate (21 weeks) and papaya (22 weeks) bigger than a banana (20 weeks)?  Do I just live in an area with really small fruit?

@musicgirl524‌ a tuna anything shake is so gross but just mixing it in water, yuck! Why is canned tuna the first thing every one thinks about when they think health? So gross and honestly the tuna wouldn't gross me out so badly if he added things to it for taste but he would eat it straight from the can with a fork. His idea of a chat day treat when we met was a handful of salted almonds. He's lucky I married him since he didn't know that you can workout outside and get protein from other foods.

 Ive seen papayas bigger than some bananas, but I agree the pomegranate threw me off.

Maybe if you do end up cooking a little extra (like leftovers for work or lunch the next day) immediately put them in a container & in the fridge as your serving plates so he knows they are kind of "off limits". @jennjilljoite‌
