Re: ~*~ 3rd Tri Check In 9/24 ~*~

  • Hey @Ashris13! I will mention it at my appointment next week. All I know is that this kid better have a full head of hair when he's born. ;-)

I hit 30 weeks today! I have an appointment next Wednesday. It may be my last appointment without a NST. They said they start them for AMA moms at week 34 but right now I go in on odd numbered weeks so we'll see. We picked out a color for the nursery and we'll paint this weekend. Other than that there's not much to report. I'm feeling ok except for the heartburn. And now I'm dealing with some insomnia some nights. I've started going to sleep earlier again but last night I made it to 9:00 so I was pretty proud of myself. :-)

     TTC since August 2011, Me = 40, DH = 38
Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.

Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

  • So heres my update......This weekend was supposed to be a very busy and party filled weekend.  We had family in town for my sisters babies baptism and my shower.  Well I spent most of the day Friday at my moms house with my family until about 8pm when I had a sudden gush of fluid while on the way to the bathroom.  I called L&D and they had me come in.  My water had broken and I was admitted.  They thought my water broke for my surviving twin but at 9:45 Saturday morning I delivered our angel.  I didn't even know I was having contractions.  I went to go to the bathroom and he started to make his arrival.  We were able to spend time and hold our angel Jonathan for a few hours.  I was then put on Magnesium and antibiotics.  They had already started me on the steroid once I got here Friday night.  I'm now a resident of the high risk hospital for the next 4+weeks.  They want me to get to 34 weeks and I'm 30 w 3 days.  Ultrasound showed our survivor was measuring 4 pounds and 2 weeks ahead.  My cervix is still dilated and I still have our angels placenta.  So needless to say there was no shower, or baptism this weekend.  I'm going stir crazy at the hospital but I hope it gets better soon.  Next week I should be able to go for wheelchair rides :)  I want to see my dog!  She probably thinks I abandoned her.  I can use all the thoughts and prayers you have.

  • How far along are you? 37w 5d

Upcoming appointments? BPP and OB apt this afternoon, and yes @ashris13 induction scheduled for Friday!

Any updates to share? I'm so done, lol. But they are still moving around in there, so I'm OK going until Friday.

How are you feeling? I'm OK until about 2pm, then everything starts to hurt until I go to bed. I'm ready for these boys to be here, but I really wish they could come on their own. I'm terrified that I'm going to labor for 20 hours and end up with a CS. But no use in worrying right? I keep telling myself that I've done as much as I can and going to 38 weeks is awesome!

QOTW:  What is the craziest think you have ever done? I really can't think of anything, although I want to go skydiving!

  • @ekc0630 I have no words. I am so so sorry. My thoughts are with you.

Good morning ladies, 30 and some change today. I feel pretty good, my shower is this weekend so I'm super excited/nervous about it. I have a tough time being the center of attention and I wish I hadn't gained so much weight already, but I'm sure it will be a fun time nonetheless.

I just started chiropractic care to hopefully help with a smooth labor and delivery. Do any of you ladies have experience with this? Will it really help?

Other than that the reno still has not started, we are waiting on permits from the town and I am getting very anxious that it just won't get done in time.

QOTW: I'm pretty vanilla, so nothing too crazy.. but I did go cliff jumping in Jamaica and got hurt. So that was the end of my adventuring.
  • @ekc06030 - I am so sorry for your loss. Hang in there and know that our prayers are with you and your family.

We are 33w5d and had a baby shower at our church this past weekend. It was so wonderful because so many of these people have walked with us on this tough road. I also loved that it was co-ed because my husband has been through a lot too and deserves to be thrown a party.

We have my husband's work shower tonight and my friends want to throw us a progressive dinner instead of the standard baby shower. We are so happy that so many people are waiting to welcome Squirt!

No appointments this week, but next week is appointment/class crazy. Car seat check, mh is going to  a Daddy class, we are going to an infant class on Sunday.
All of this makes time pass faster until we can meet Squirt!

QOTW: Not much crazy here. I got a PhD which was a 5-year long time of crazy lol.

  • @eck0630 -- I am so sorry you have had to go through that. Hoping your little survivor keeps cooking for a few more weeks. Thinking of you!

AFM -- Things have started to get busy. we had a surprise baby shower yesterday thrown by some former co-workers of mine. I am heading to Texas this weekend for a shower with my college friends and my family. We have birthing classes and maternity pictures and all kinds of stuff planned for next month!

We had our growth scan last week and baby girl is measuring perfectly on schedule. So far, all is well.

QOTW: Hmmmmm, all I can think of right now is we went on safari in Africa and our jeep was chased by a lioness. That was kind of scary.  I was ducking for cover in case she decided to jump in the jeep with us while my husband was screaming for the camera.  He got some GREAT pictures of her though and we survived.  :)

  • Ashris13!  I keep wavering on the doula, but I have looked into it.  In my area, you can hire one through the hospital for about $650, or an independent one for about $800-1,000.  I don't think that insurance covers it.  I think that my new plan is to just labor at home for as long as I can possibly stand it.  There are so many situations that might necessitate interventions and then it would be kind of pointless.  Also, I'm about to send you a private message!

    Congrats to the recent grads!

ekc0630 I'm so sorry.  I hope that baby #2 stays until 34 weeks.

I'm 34 weeks now and have an appointment this afternoon, then in 2 weeks I start weekly appointments and will have my final US and GBS test.  Still feeling about the same, my feet and back are hurting a little more but it's all bearable and I just put my feet up when I get home.  We're working on choosing a pediatrician and I'm still trying to figure out child care.

I've never done anything really crazy.  I went on a "white water" rafting trip once, which was lame, and did a helicopter tour on our honeymoon, which was awesome.

@Ashris13 A RCS is a repeat C-section.  I had a CS with my first and my doctor/hospital do not do VBACs.  Ending in a CS was hearbreaking but the plus side is that I get to pretty much pick my date and I won't have to worry about going through labor this time!  I have to look at the positives.

Update:  I'm 30w4d today and feeling good!  I'm really slowing down and everything is more difficult but I can't really complain.  I'm also exhausted!!  I have a regular OB appointment tomorrow.

QOTW:  I'm not one for crazy things like that... I honestly can't even think of a crazy thing that I've ever done!  It's not really me and it's definitely not DH's style, he's such a worry wart!

@ekc0630- thoughts and prayers for you and your DH to get through this and hold your little boy soon, happy and healthy.

    I'm 29W 6D.  Regular bi-weekly appointment next week.

Feeling eh, tough week here- failed my 1 hour glucose test really bad and they prepared me that the odds of failing the 3 hour one are pretty high, so regardless of those results they are treating me like I have GD.  3 hour test was a bitch today- had to ask to lie down in an exam room in between blood draws.  So lots of diet control and I have to do finger pricks before and after every meal.  After a mild freak out, just want to get through this to do whatever is best for our LO.  Also, found out I'm severely anemic, so amping up the iron supplements.  It never ends!

Question:  I think jump off the cliffs in Capri and swim into the blue grotto as the tide was coming in.  That was definitely a once in a lifetime experience, but was lemon chello induced :-)

    IVF #1 Oct 2013- cancelled
IVF #2 Mar 2014- success.... baby girl born 11/28/14

@Ashris13‌, I am due with a baby girl 12/6. Thank you for adding me!!!

Unfortunately, I failed my 3-hour glucose the past Sunday. So, I have a class this afternoon that will teach me how to manage GD for the rest of my pregnancy...I was so bummed out, and felt a lot of guilt, but my MFM told me just to focus on the positive, baby girl is looking great and that GD is completely manageable. We had a quick growth scan today, and baby is measuring right on track. The tech tried so hard to get a good 3-D pic of her little face, but she wanted nothing to do with it. Had her arm in front of her face and wouldn't move.

Other than that, I'm really counting down the days before I get to go on leave. There is still a ways to go, but the commute (1.5 hours) is really getting to me these days, especially on public transportation. I'm also starting to live in maternity leggings about 6 days a week, lol. Kudos to those who can still manage to get dressed in real clothes and look cute on a daily basis.

QOTW: I'm not too much of a dare devil. Will be a tie between jumping the gates of a condo complex in the middle of the night to swim in my bra and panties, or going doors off on a helicopter ride in Hawaii. :)

  • @ekc0630 sending T&P your way. Hopefully, your LO will stay put for a little while longer.

How far along are you? 33 weeks

Upcoming Appointments? Had my NST today at the hospital and they said the babies were perfect. Then I headed over to the doctor's office and my BP was elevated and they found small levels of protein in my urine. They said not to worry. . .famous last words right?!? I think because I'm going in weekly now, they'll just keep an eye on that.

Any updates to share? DH got me a prenatal massage as a Birthday present. . .it was wonderful!

How are you feeling? Big, tired and just worried when time will officially run out. I'm slowly beating this cold back. . .right now just extra mucous-y with a cough that could match a chain smoker.

QOTW: Went snorkeling and I had a nice face to face encounter with a barracuda. Luckily, we went our separate ways. But there were a few heart pounding/stopping moments what the heck big fish has teeth & will he try to eat me?!?!

@Lincoln79: I hear ya about grad school. . .those were some crazy times! What did you get your Ph.D. in? Took me 5.5 years for Chemistry.

  • @ekc0630 I'm so sorry you had to go through that, sending you lots of T & P.  Keep us updated.

    -------------------------------------------------------

Hello ladies can I join?  I'm 28w2d with a little girl, I recognized a few of you from previous trimester check-ins.   I have my 30 week appt in two weeks and this past Monday I had my glucose loading test and got my Tdap shot.  My arm is still a little sore from the shot today.   The nurse didn't call but I was able to check my blood glucose result online, it was only 62 so I guess not at risk for GD.

I feel pretty good so far, LO is kicking a lot more and I think she was having hiccups yesterday. I finally saw my belly move and it was pretty cool.

QOTW: I'm so boring that I couldn't think of anything I've done that is crazy.  Does going through IF and not telling your family count?  The only people that knew are my friends!

  • Hello Ladies!

First off big hugs to @ekc0630, you are so strong!  I am sending so many prayers for your little one to stay put as long as possible.  I am sorry you are stuck on bedrest, but glad for wheelchair outings soon!

@rox825 I will check my PM when I get home, I don't like to bump too much at work and we will work out a plan.

    As for me:

How far along are you? I am 32 weeks today, and I still wake up daily and don't beleive it.

Upcoming appointments? I have my bi weekly appointment tomorrow but not expecting anything exciting, had the flu shot last time so I am sure tomorrow is TDAP day.

Any updates to share? We have out hospital tour and birthing class on Saturday, I am very excited but still need to write my list of questions for the hospital.

How are you feeling? I am feeling ok, with the exception of my back pain and the siatica pain I feel.  But I will not complain too much I dont have a whole lot of time left and am trying to enjoy what time I have left being pregnant.

QOTW: What is the craziest think you have ever done? (EX: Bungee jumping, sky diving, etc.)

Not sure I am crazy enough for this question either! lol  We went scuba diving (not certified) in Mexico, that was more cool than crazy, went ziplineing in Costa Rica, but never really felt too crazy on that either... I would have loved to sky dive before I getting pregnant, but now that she is coming/here... I don't think I ever will... too risky!

  • How far along are you? 32+3 today Upcoming appointments? Just left my appointment! Any updates to share? Babies got knocked out of position worse than I thought. From both head down to cephalic breech. Basically they are both diagonal across my stomach baby A is butt closer to my cervix than her head. Their growth discordance had doubled last time. They were at 8.5% now they are at 16.5%. They are also larger than I thought at 4lbs2oz and 4lbs15oz!! How are you feeling? Like I have two huge babies inside me! My body has no room or resources to do anything else except grow babies at this point. QOTW: What is the craziest thing you have ever done? (EX: Bungee jumping, sky diving, etc.) I went parasailing with my mom about five years ago in myrtle beach but that's about it!

  • @tilelady85 I am also going to a chiropractor to hopefully help encourage the babies to turn - he using the Webster method.  I don't know if they have turned (I doubt it!) but they do move around more since I have started seeing him.

I am 31 weeks, 2 days.  I have an appointment with my OB on Monday, an NST on Tuesday and a growth and development ultrasound on Wednesday.  Busy week!

I have been dealing with swelling for the last couple of weeks and last Friday it was really getting bad and when I checked my blood pressure it was on the high side.  I went to my doctor who then sent me to the hospital triage.  Luckily, everything checked out there and I wasn't given any restrictions.  My doctor didn't hesitate to say she would pull me out of work if it happened again so I have been trying to take some vacation time here and there to just come home and put my feet up.  These last few days I have started to feel really big with these boys!

Still working on the nursery.  Cribs are up, but waiting on some bedding.  I will take a picture as soon as it is finished!

QOTW:  I don't think I have done anything too crazy.  Although some people consider driving across the country to move from Seattle to Rochester, NY is crazy!

How far along are you? 31+2 today!
Upcoming appointments?  Next Wednesday will be our 32 week appointment.
Any updates to share? Had a nice anniversary get-away this past weekend, got back on Tuesday and took off work yesterday to run errands.  We started our birthing class yesterday, so that was interesting to say the least.  I think I knew most of what she went over, but DH probably quite overwhelmed!!
How are you feeling?  Other than some lower back pain, I'm doing great.  I tell people that I'm not exactly to that super uncomfortable stage yet!

QOTW: What is the craziest think you have ever done? (EX: Bungee jumping, sky diving, etc.)  I'm a boring accountant = not a risk taker.  Maybe swimming with (nurse) sharks and stingrays (who didn't have stingers).

  • @ekc0630 - So sorry to read about your angel. Fx that LO keeps hanging in there for a few weeks more.

@ashris13 - I've missed a couple of check ins and fell off the list last week. We are team green.

Upcoming appointments? Have a 3rd tri growth scan next Monday and a 36 week OB appt next week.
Any updates to share? Finally worked on our registry, for family and friends who were inquiring
How are you feeling? The feet swelling has been wicked bad this week. Morning used to be better, but not this week.

QOTW:  What is the craziest think you have ever done? I've got nothing; pretty boring life here.

  • Just a quick checkin this week. First of all my niece who had the collapsed lung is home, 4 weeks old, and doing great!

Also doing well over here, pelvic displacement stepping it up a notch but other than that we are fine. Took a spill the other day and both knees?shins scratched to hell, but didn't come anywhere near landing on my tummy and baby girl kicked all evening because we'd had a particularly busy morning.

Piper is breech ATM, head and feet both firmly lodged in my ribcage (she's bendy like her mama lol) so we have another US at 37 weeks to see if we need to try external version. I've been doing a few positions to try and turn her and feel like she might be lower down in my belly now which is a positive step. Maternity pics coming this weekend and my shower next weekend - so excited!!!!

  • Hi ladies!  I'd like to join the group. I'm Candace, EDD 12.13.14 with a little girl.

    How far along are you?

    Currently I'm 29w3d.
    Upcoming appointments?
My next appointment is October 17, 2014.  It's my last 4 week appointment.
    Any updates to share?
I'm losing patience with Babies R Us ... I ordered a crib and dresser at the beginning of August and it still isn't here yet.  My local store told me that it most likely will not be in until mid October.  I want the dresser - I need to put away baby clothes and get organized!
    How are you feeling?
Overall I feel pretty awesome.  I am learning that I can't do everything like I used to and my body sometimes gets tired easily.  Learning to listen to my body has been somewhat difficult but I'm learning!

QOTW:  What is the craziest think you have ever done? (EX: Bungee jumping, sky diving, etc.)

I'm pretty boring .... Maybe zip lining or doing bungee jumping at an amusement park.
Married on October 20, 2012.  Began trying in January 2013.
RE appointment & testing December 2013 - February 2014= Unexplained IF, possible endometriosis
IUI#1- March 22 (100mg clomid, 75 mg of Bravelle, Ovidrel trigger) = BFP!!!
