Help dress me because I am clueless

Re: Help dress me because I am clueless

  • lol at jeans don't fit me I know because I went to old navy. Head:desk

Reading comprehension fail. I said I only found a single cut in old navy that fits well, not that I deduced women's clothing didn't fit well because I went to old navy.

Go spend good money on a pair if well fitting jeans not old navy. You can thank me later. Dresses look way better with leggings than a sweater that doesn't cover your ass. I would put money on the fact you look like a train wreck daily.

Lol, I see much worse than leggings as pants. I saw this girl this morning in a too small fitted top with low rise jeans whose butt crack actually showed when she bent over. She would have fared better in leggings than jeans. Trust me I am far from the least fashionable and more often than not I see moms in the same crap I wear everyday. I don't stand out at all. :P

  • try gap or american eagle for jeans that fit right.  I've had great luck with both of those stores.

  • And possibly see a therapist for your obvious body image issues. Your whole self worth seems to be wrapped up in the size of your leggings.

I do appreciate the suggestions and have tried on many of those brands. Problem is I have a 27 inch waist, 39 inch hips and the very top of my legs are thick but the bottom are narrower. Women's brand don't seem to support that as to get something my hips/bum/upper thighs fit in I get bagginess in the waist/leg. Obviously a belt can help with the waist but the leg can't really be fixed. Juniors jeans have more stretch to them ime so I just go for what works. The butt/hip issue messes with my length. For example this shirt goes past my crotch but in the back it's a good three inches too short to cover my bum.

Eta deleted the photo because it was huge for some odd reason.

I am wearing a pair of ON jeans right now that have so much strecth they are basically Gumby.

Please enlighten me on what the difference between a super stretchy pair of ON jeans are and a super stretchy pair of jeans from the junior department at kohls. I can tell you I have both and you'd never be able to the difference between the two. I know when I go into the juniors section I can try on a handful of things and probably like most of it or I could go into a woman's department and try on 20 pairs of jeans to find one that looks good. Why would I want to make shopping a bigger chore? I also have zero interest in altering jeans.

Wash and finishes would be my first guess. And cut.

And basic digity at my age.

    ETA -- and also dignity

Meh I don't measure my self worth by where I shop so there's that.

I am wearing skinny jeans right this second that have a crapton of stretch, and you know the best part? I didn't get them in the Juniors department. I don't mean to brag, but I have more hip and thigh than waist and I manage to find women's sizes that accomodate those things. It isn't rocket science here.

I don't find skinny jeans to be figure flattering to me. That's great you have good experience with women's department jeans. I don't and frankly unless you're the same height and have the same measurements it's irrelevant. Believe me, I've ventured out of the juniors department when I have a coupon and there's a sale. It rarely ends well when I try to buy clothes in even sizes and quite frankly I don't care about clothes enough to go through the hassle.

Seriously...I last checked in this thread about 24 hrs ago and it's still going strong.

Didn't we all agree not to let KC pick the fight she so clearly wants?!

If you don't care...why are you keeping this going??  Why did you post it in the first place???

I posted it to get advice about colors. Others made it a debate about leggings and clothing fit, not me.

  • Laugh out fucking loud at the self worth comment. No you get your self worth from trying to make yourself look better and sound smarter than an Internet message board. This is getting sad and bordering on pathetic. Seriously you have to be the most unhappy person on here. I hope to go you next post is about wearing leggings to therapy.

  • you don't really need waist measurement for jeans, just hip measurement.  Get a more relaxed fit if your thighs are bigger.

Oh my bad. I forgot nobody else on this board has a 27" waist so we cant possibly understand your jeans dilemma. Good gawd.

Doesn't matter the waist size, it's more thighs/hips.

Then why bring it up? Oh wait, we know why

Because I was questioned/was offered "advice" that wasn't applicable. It wasn't like I came out with shit out of nowhere. People offered suggestions and I gave responses in return.

  • This is a typical message board issue: I have a problem, help me. No, you don't understand my life. None of your suggestions can work for me. Even though I said I knew nothing about this topic, now I know.

Just pretend I loved this. My phone hates me today. Anyway....of course it would be the most obvious thing. Story of my life.

Except I didn't ask for suggestions of how to find shirts that go past my bum or women's jeans that fit. If I did and then I criticized the responses that would be one thing. People generally look down on me here so I explained the method to my madness.

Yes, you measure it by the department you shop it, not the store.
  • THERAPY...get some.
  • Seriously KC I know you think people look down on you but it is because EVERYTHING you post is for attention. You did not used to be like this I am sorry you are so unhappy. Find a therapist.
  • OMG TAILOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  There's people you can pay to do that.  BUT, I'm pretty sure there are women's jeans cut specifically for wider hips/thighs + smaller waist.  I mean, big hips are a 'woman' issue 'typically' so that's what they're cut for.....!
  • It's threads like this that almost convince me she's a man...a big fat crazy man.
  • Hey yo, hey yo, hey yo, hey yo
  • Ugh. Cannot believe I wasted J's whole nap time reading this.

If you have a hard time finding things that fit right (as we all do from time to time) buy a good quality brand that will last and get the dang pants altered to your waist or whatever if you have to. You only have to do it once and then you've got good jeans or whatever that last for years.

Now I have to go watch pitch perfect so I can see the part where they sing the no digity song and get it out of my head.
