Re: ***POTW Entry Thread***
Two days after I delivered. It really shows how dark the NICU is. I just kept staring at her all day long. I had to keep the portholes opened so she could hear my voice and me singing to her. I felt connected even though I couldn't hold her yet.
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
It's my 1st Siggy pic.....It was new years eve this year and she planted a nice big kiss on me. I'm so glad my husband got the picture!
I cant get it to work
He was bringing a baby lamb to his new sister and then giving mommy a kiss.
DD was two months old and I was just snapping pics of her and DH. I fell in love with this picture and it's been one of my favorites since.
After nursing her for the first time in the NICU. At this point, I knew that everything would be OK.
This picture was taken a few minutes after DS was born, as soon as he was placed on me. I remember being so overcome with emotions. I was just in awe of him and holding his little hand, thinking how blessed we are to have him. This pictures makes me tear up every time I look at it.
This was Eli's birthday, before he was transferred into an incubator. I was just so amazed by him, such a tiny little well formed person even though he was early. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was so in love. And he loved me too!
The first time DH held her...
This is just a few minutes after she was born. This is her hand wrapped around my dads finger. The hand of a innocent, beautiful child wrapped around her papas aging hardworking finger. This is one of my most treasured pictures.
My ds is named for my dad who died when I was pregnant. We had this made into one picture for my family- me on my dad's shoulders and then ds on mine - in the exact same place (my dad's favorite park).
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
I know this isn't the prettiest picture, but it's definitely the most meaningful to me.
It was the first time DD met my grandmother, on Christmas Day last year. My grandmother was in assisted living, and we didn't want to take DD out of the carrier for fear of germs since she was less than a month old.
My dad (pictured behind my grandmother), brother and sister had arrived before us, and apparently my grandmother was very unresponsive. But when we showed up with DD, she lit up, and when we left, I kissed her and said I loved her, and she replied, very faintly, "I love you too" -- the only words she spoke the entire visit. They may have even been her final words. She died four days later, the day after her 80th birthday.
Sorry that was so long. I still have a really hard time with it.
This was taken the first time I got to hold Payton. I looked at her and said "Hi baby girl!" and she looked right back at me, it felt like she wanted to say "Hi mommy!" I love this photo.

This is Eva and DH at Eva's first Yankees game. ?We got tickets to see the last Old Timer's Game at the Stadium and I had a onesie made with the number 8 because DH nicknamed Eva "Yogi" while I was pregnant. ?He was so excited to show her the park and share her first game with her.?
this is about 36-37 wks pregnant with dd2. and I just love this pic bc dd1 is still my baby no matter what
Anna's Entry: It is the first time I got to dress them in real clothes! You know I had to bring the baby Ugg's!
Ayva's Entry: She is 6 months old here and this picture was taken about a month before she started having seizures and she could no longer see, sit up, or do any of the milestones she was learning to do.
This picture makes me cry everytime I look at it.
Justin's Entry: This is on Christmas Day and he and Daddy fell asleep together!
The day we were officially a family of three! We had just gotten back from court where his birthmother signed her termination of parental rights and he was officially, legally our son! It was bittersweet for me... I was excited for us, but so overwhelmingly sad for her. I cried the entire way out of court until we were home.
This is the very first time my granny met A. She had a stroke the day before A was born.
It was love at first sight! Father and Daughter!

This is Sara waiting for daddy to come home. When he pulled in the drive she was laughing and crying and pounding on the glass. ?Now, each night I ask Sara, "Where's Daddy" right before he comes home. She goes to the door and pounds on it. When he comes in she is laughing and dancing and stamping her feet. He commutes more than an hour in bumper to bumper traffic and used to be all uptight when he got home. With his new greeting it makes him smile and laugh?instantly. Coming home is the highlight of his day.?

(Sorry about how big it is, there is no medium size)

The day after I delivered. He was just so comfortable sitting on my chest/belly like that. DH absolutely loves this picture. We called him our little frog. It makes me sad to think that he was that little once. They grow up too fast.
Here is my little Patrick during his 4 month photoshoot at Kiddie Kandids. He looked at me when she took the picture and it was the first time he started babbling.

This isn't a great photo because I took it myself at arm's length and it came out blurry, but this was the first time DD was ever really sick (14m old) and she spent the entire day laying on me like this, sucking on the corner of her Blankie and drifting in and out of sleep. I never even changed out of my jammies that day, and aside from the fact that my little girl was sick, I was so happy and grateful to get a whole day of snuggling with my busy toddler!

Here, Samantha is just a few days old. I was very anemic and weak, but holding her made my heart swell. This will always be one of my favorite pictures. I was just in awe of her. I couldn't believe, after what we had been through, she was here, perfect & healthy and all mine!!!!

This photo was a totally candid shot when we did DD's 18 month pics at my aunt's house. DD is such a Daddy's girl. I almost cried when I saw the pic, its just so perfect. The two things I love most in this whole world.

I like this one...it's the first time I held all three boys, and it's a picture of the TV from when we were on national news.
(I wish I had something more sentimental, but alas...)

My favorite photo of my two favorite guys. DH and DS at home when he was just 9 days old.
This was the first time that my husband got to hold DD, 11 days after she was born. She was so little and needed to be kept under very specific temperature and humidity conditions for the first 10 days she was here that they didn't let either of us hold her until day 11. This was the first major parenting milestone of our NICU experience. I love the way DD's tiny hand is splayed out on his chest.
No one makes her smile after shots like Mama!!
You can't quite see it, but jack's legs are folded up and crossed against his chest in this picture. In those first couple weeks we would always find him in his "womb pose." It was just a reminder of how he was still in between two worlds and I think it is so precious that he had all this room to stretch out but prefered to be in a tight little ball. It was a great reminder as I dealt with those tough sleepless nights and countless feeding sessions that this baby still was trying to get this big world figured out.
This is Parker's newborn feet in my DH's hands. My DH's wedding band is around his big toe. I absolutely love this picture. Taken by Lori Brian Photography.
Logan was born with Torticollis. His neck was always tilted and stiff. One night after baths he was sitting up for a really long time and I grabbed the camera to take a picture of him for the physical therapist of his improvement. He was like take that tight neck muscles and turned his head further than ever before. My strong lil man!
Sorry it's so huge I can't fix it at work. :-(
To see my favorite picture (bottom) you have to see my least favorite (top picture). (She was born on May 11, and on the 11th day of every month we take her pic next to the same bear to show how she's grown.)
The top picture is Dana at 4 months. She was crying a LOT and everyone kept telling me she was fine, just colicky, and that I was being a panicky 1st time mom. But I KNEW something was wrong. She was too skinny and was always acting hungry. I took her in for an emergency visit with the pediatrician who said she was hungry, my break milk supply had obviously dwindled, she had lost over a pound and needed to start formula. One month later, she had gained weight and was the happy baby I knew she was supposed to be. I can't look at the top picture without cringing, but the bottom one makes me smile because it shows that the mother's instinct is very strong!
This picture was taken by our very good friend that runs a studio called Studio Two. We were actually getting ready to do Gavin's individual pictures and he was having a rough day. I was playing with him and dancing with him to try and cheer him and up and have him get excited for his pictures. He ended up giving me an eskimo kiss. He's all about this right now. I LOVE this picture, and I had no clue she even took it until she gave it to me with his other pics. It is so neat to have love recorded for all time!
Our little glow worm. Paige in her blue light outfit. Luckily we discovered she had jaundice BEFORE we left the hospital. I love this photo. She looks like a little angel!
This was taken later in the day that she was born, after all of the families and nurses had let us be. Daddy is holding her...just the three of us. I had bought the Baby's 1st Thanksgiving bib without telling anyone because I didn't want to jinx us since our families were coming from across the country, baby or not, but alas we were able to use it. The bib still hangs on the nursery doorknob.
These pictures are amazing, everyone. So many are SO touching. Can we not vote this week, and give everyone first place for their own special moments?

This is DD with my Dad. She was about 3 or 4 weeks old here. I walked in and found them both sleeping like this. It is my favorite photo of the two of them.
This is DS on his birthday with his great grandparents. It was especially exciting because DS shares a birthday with his great grandfather. They were born on the same day, in the same hour 79 years apart.
