Its a law here you can't pass. Weird I assumed it was everywhere.

It's a law everywhere but just to be nice a bus driver will pull in the stop sign and wave cars past. Maybe they are not legally allowed to do this but it helps with the traffic flow and its nice not to have to be stuck behind a bus that stops at every.single.block.

You can't pass when they're picking up or dropping off kids (their lights will be flashing and the stop sign will be out), but if they're not doing either of these things, you can pass them. But I've never heard of a pass pulling over so others can pass. That's weird. :-?

Pandora bracelets? Save your money and go to a quarter machine in a Walmart. You'll find the same looking garbage in there. I don't understand how those are so popular and expensive.

    I don't even know what you're talking about. B-)

  • Hm I guess I shouldn't be frustrated when the bus doesn't pull over anymore? It's common here I didn't know it wasn't a thing. I rode the bus k-11 too and it was always a practice. What do you do just follow the bus? Ours goes driveway to driveway it could take forever to get down a busy kid road if they don't pull over. Different states with different rules that's so weird.

All kids are picked up at a designated spot such as front of a shopping center, or in front of another school.
  • Here you're just stuck behind it.

If the lights aren't on, you can pass here. I didn't notice buses pulling over until a couple years ago, mine never did when I rode it.

  • Busses here will pull over and let cars pass, which is nice.

But I agree what's with stopping at EVERY driveway!? It doesn't make sense. The bus driver puts on lights stops picks up kid, turns off lights, drives uh a few feet and puts the lights on again to stop. It's ridiculous.

No wonder kids are obese these days.

One morning bus stopped for a kid to come from the front door.... Then waited several minutes until the kids sister came out of the house and slowly Walkes to the bus...
  • I have a pandora and an origami necklace. I love both.

  • I had to look up Alex and ani. Pretty, but not my style. I'm not a bracelet wearer but they look good on others.
  • There's another one. Stella and dot? Stella dot? Someone in my news feed sells it.

Me too! Need to get a charm for LO for my Origami. It's been great bc MIL has gotten me Pandora charms for bday and Christmas instead of crap I don't want.

Stella and Dot is jewelry and purses. Similar.

Oh and re busses. When I was a kid I did not walk to school up hill both ways but I did have to walk to the bus stop. On my half mile street there were probably four stops total. The street was full of kids.

These days they stop on front of each house and the kid isn't even at the end of the driveway! They are taking their sweet ass time walking from the front door. Dafuq is that?!?

OMG, yes! I'm always stuck behind the bus as it stops at every kids house and then waits for them to come outside! It also annoys me when parents drive their kids down their driveway and wait in the car for the bus. No one just waits outside at the end of the driveway by me. Well, except my DSS. Guess we're mean!
I've figured out what time I have to leave the house in the morning to get ahead of the bus traffic. If I don't get out on time, I might as well wait 10 minutes in the comfort of my own home.

    And olives are gross.

Why and when did this become a thing? If you weren't at the stop the driver was like see ya. I remember chasing the bus and having the doors slammed in my face as I ate their exhaust.

It's not a thing everywhere. We walk about a quarter mile each way, there's 15+ kids at the stop and the driver does not wait. :)

Yup, us too. Except there are 41 kids at our bus stop. 41!!! Our driver is MEAN and never waits, even as kids are literally running towards the bus.

This gives me faith in humanity. I had no clue buses now stop at every driveway in some neighborhoods. That's insane.

I lived on a loop growing up. One bus stop at the top of the loop (mine) and one at the bottom. If you missed the bus at the top, you'd better haul major ass to the bottom because hell would freeze over before our driver would stop a second time at the top as he passed it again.

I'm the opposite.  I have 3 Alex and Ani bracelets (an Armenian cross, and LO's initials: J and M) and I love them.

I'm team I don't care what your kid does with electronics but I wish my friend would teach her kid to stay off mine. Every time I put my phone down she's looking thru my camera roll, it was only cute the first 2 times.

Well there is one way to get her to stop.
    Dick pics? ;)
  • Buses have to stop at people's driveways if there is no side walk. If there is a sidewalk then there is a group bus stop. I hate when parents drop off or pick their kids up from the bus stop and sit and wait for the bus. The schools wouldn't give you a bus stop that's to far away for your child to walk.

Buses stop at the entrance of the neighborhoods where I live, regardless of size of the neighborhood. Most of the kids live at the very back. And the policy is if there is no parent at the stop the kid can't get off, they'll take them back to school. We are the very first house in the hood so I don't have to worry about any of this though.

I used to think that was weird, too, until my kid started riding the bus. It's a good 4 blocks from our house, and she's 5. There's no way she's walking to and from the bus stop by herself. Yes, there are sidewalks, but there are also 2 streets to cross and plenty of weirdos out there. I'd much rather keep her safe by walking her there and back.
  • We don't have sidewalks where I live. We don't have street lights either it would be dangerous for kids to meet somewhere plus the houses aren't that close together. Man I didn't realize this was a thing. It makes sense though
