Family pictures

We have family pictures scheduled for next month. I was hoping you would share your favorite stores to find coordinating outfits at. The pictures will be of 1 yo DD, 4 yo DS, DH and myself.

I'm not a matchy fan. Not at all.

Find a color and get outfits that coordinate on that color.

I started with my outfit because I'm the hardest one to shop for and then went from there.  I found DS a cute button down plaid shirt and jeans at Old Navy.  I just made sure all the outfits coordinated.  DS was the only one with a patterned shirt while DH and I both wore solids.  Too much pattern makes the picture really busy.  Check out Pinterest - they have good ideas for coordinating outfits.

Yep this is what we do.  I like a mixture of colors and patterns that tie together.  The last time we did family pictures, I wore a solid turquoise shirt and black ankle pants, DH wore a small print plaid shirt that had blue in it with khakis and DS wore a solid navy polo with khaki shorts.  It all tied together but we didn't look like triplets

I'm not a matchy fan either. My friend who is a photographer recommends solid coordinating but not matching colors. We have done me=white shirt/jeans, DH=blue shirt/khakis, DD1=light blue dress with peach accents, DD2=darker peach dress. And last fall we did outside pics and wore our coats. They are my favorite family pics.

We're doing family pictures soon too.  I grabbed solid matching color shirts/top from Old Navy. We're wearing dark blue jeans for the bottoms.

I scoured pinterest for family picture ideas and then bought my son's shirt at Gap. My DD's outfits I found at Marshall's and then I found mine and DH's at our local dept store. I didn't want to match so the ideas pinterest had with how to coordinate outfits was a lifesaver for me.
