I'm trying to figure out what I would like to do. I never thought I'd consider going natural but I just took a birthing class and it's really made me see things from a prospective I hadn't seen before. Does anyone have any stories or anything they could share regarding either one?? I know it's a very personal decision but I'm just trying to get more real life input in my research.
Re: Epidural vs natural...
It's probably easier for you to search for the threads than for everyone else to repeat themselves for the 10th time.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:6-7
All PgAL and PAL welcome.
Also we had a HUGE influx of newbies asking redundant questions today.

I'm not even being sarcastic.
I am sorry to hear about your loss and that you were mistreated on another board. We take losses very seriously here as there are a lot of us who have gone through it as well.
My own experience: My goal with my first child was a drug-free low intervention birth. I ended up with some weird nerve issues during the third tri and had to be induced. I was in some serious pain even before the pitocin contractions started so I asked for an epi. Well, the epi just plain didn't work. My legs were numb but I fully felt every contraction. It was a rough labor and I got all the way to 9.5 cm before I had to have an emergency c-section.
I had studied the HypnoBabies method to prepare myself for the birth and I honestly think it is what got me through. It was extremely helpful to have practiced the skills I needed to calm myself and focus. I would highly recommend that you find some sort of natural pain management book or class so you can practice the skills you need.

Just kidding.
