We had already planned a trip to Portland at the end of October. I won't get to enjoy all the breweries we had planned on visiting. Oh well. We might go to a B&B somewhere within driving distance in March.
Every Thanksgiving we go to the beach for the week, this year my in-laws are coming for part of it. We also go to Boston for Christmas to see our families (this year its 4 days). I don't suspect we will do anything else.
I don't know of it's on the budget but I'd love to go to Upstate NY or New England this fall. Maybe we could camp. Not as relaxing but definitely fun'. Now tell me, has anyone here gone tent camping with a 12 mo old? How was it?
We talked about this, and we were thinking about going somewhere in driving distance. Maybe upstate NY or down to one of the Carolinas.
But, I also need to go to New Orleans for work in February, so maybe I'll just stay on longer, and DH will come join me after my meetings end. I could probably get him a ticket on FF miles.
Is there a general time during a PG that people take babymoons? I would assume you don't want to go too late... but how early is too early? We're high risk with a history of loss.... maybe that factors in on the time period.
I'm not sure if it is different with high risk pregnancies but my doctor told me there isn't a "too early" time to travel but you don't want to travel after 35 weeks.
Xtinasanderson! We were planning to head to NYC over Christmas as well, but that got squashed thanks to my DH's boss. While we'll probably take a long weekend or a few days together, we are both active military, so we're saving leave for after the baby's debut. ;-)
We found out we were pregnant on vacation in Hawaii, so we definitely won't be doing an official "babymoon". We may do a long weekend in NYC or Charleston. Since eating is all I can do I might as well enjoy it!
We are going to Marco Island fl for thanksgiving and 4 year wedding anniversary. We are thinking of going to Greenbrier in January, but are still undecided. Looking for a great babymoon location in the northeast if anyone has recommendations.
We were on a vacation to Yellowstone when we got our BFP. We are going to Las Vegas without DD in October for a 4 day weekend and then flying to Los Angeles for another 4 days right after. I travel every other week for business so I'm lucky to have tons of travel rewards saved up. I want to use them up before baby comes since vacations will be on hold for awhile. Bonus is we get to do a babymoon without spending a bunch of money!
We went to Mexico last month. We booked it before I found out I was pregnant so I guess that was our "baby moon." We may do a weekend thing before April though.

@kbehelr what time of year are you thinking of traveling to the northeast? The fall foliage in Mass, Vermont and NH and Maine can make for a beautiful trip, particularly for a long weekend getaway at a little New England Inn or B&B. If straight up winter a little tougher, but I did have a lovely winter getaway at a little B&b in Marblehead Mass years ago. Can't really go wrong if you go in the fall to one or the quaint precious towns in NH or Vermont, in particular. (You're making me really crave putting such a getaway on the calendar!!)

Nope, its bad karma to us. We took a "babymoon" last year with our last pregnancy, went on a cruise at 18 weeks. Came back at 19 weeks with starting stages of preeclampsia and a week later he was gone. This pregnancy I'm staying put and wont feel comfortable being more than an hour from my OB and hospital. We are talking about a 5 year anniversary cruise NEXT October though....baby if here will be at least 6 months maybe more and he/she will go with us.
