Anyone taking a "babymoon"?

DH and I decided to do a"babymoon" /Christmas treat to ourselves to NYC this December! It's an hour flight for us so I won't be miserable and figured its a nice way to spend a little time together before baby comes! anyone else plan on this? And where are you going?

we just came back from a cruise i think that will be the only babymoon we well be having. unless we sneak away for a weekend alone.

Our anniversary is March 5th and we have a cabin reserved  2 hours away from home, we are planning on going as long as everything is looking ok with our little one and kind of counting that as our "babymoon" if need be a hospital is less than 20mins away. I want to do something this year as well but can't think of anything I want to pay for that sounds fun. Not being able to drink puts a damper on stuff.

We were already planning on going to Maui in Feb. I can't think of a more perfect place for our babymoon.

I was hoping to take one but if we do it, it will have to be December as I won't have enough PTO to take it next year. However that being around Christmas and we will also need a new car before baby comes I'm guessing I should stop dreaming and come back to the reality that it won't happen.

No babymoon this time around. Last time we went to Maui and it was amazing.

I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in Mexico in November. DD will be left behind with my parents. So we will count that as our babymoon

I hope so. We went to Thailand during my second trimester and it was fantastic. If we can get one of the grandparents to come stay with her for a few days I'd like to go somewhere close by, maybe San Francisco or one of the national parks.

I highly recommend it!  Even if it's just a weekend at a B&B.  We went to a spa in Arizona while pregnant with my first.  This time, we did a preconception "moon" for just as couple to Bermuda, and we are thinking of going to gulf coast of florida sometime in December with our son.  

After the baby, travel just isn't the same and I imagine with 2 it will be even more of a production.  Take advantage of easy (or easier) travel while we can!

We talked about this, and we were thinking about going somewhere in driving distance.  Maybe upstate NY or down to one of the Carolinas.

But, I also need to go to New Orleans for work in February, so maybe I'll just stay on longer, and DH will come join me after my meetings end.  I could probably get him a ticket on FF miles.

Is there a general time during a PG that people take babymoons?  I would assume you don't want to go too late... but how early is too early?  We're high risk with a history of loss.... maybe that factors in on the time period.

We were thinking Hawaii or Lake Tahoe in Dec (completely different climates) but how boring would it be to go to a ski resort at almost 6 months preg?

I'm matron of honor in a wedding this October, so we'll be spending a week out in Boston/Maine (for the wedding) and then Cape Cod. I grew up out in MA but my hubby has never been - I'm looking forward to showing him around.

We weren't planning on the trip being a babymoon, but it turned into one. :-)

We are going to mexico in a couple weeks to see my husband's dad (who moved there for work). Dh's mom will also be visiting at the same time so it's the perfect time to tell them :-)

Not really a babymoon but we are taking our two kids to DisneyWorld for a week in November for the first time. Not sure if I'm crazy or not - obviously booked it long before we were pregnant. But, we figure that now is a good age to take the kids to WDW and if we wait until the baby gets here, it's going to be a few more years.

I went on what was supposed to be a skiing timeshare with friends and DH when I was 5 months pg with DD... and it was not much fun at all. No hot tub, no skiing, or even sledding down on intertubes. Basically stuck in a cabin the entire time. If I were you, go to Hawaii.

We are going to a B&B a few hours away in November. We just went to Europe in May, so we don't want to spend too much money on this trip

We're going to take a vacation in January sometime. No idea where yet but prerequisites are warm weather. DH suggested a trip to the mountains and I just laughed after the dump of snow we got this week.

I am tagging along with him to a conference in Seattle in December and calling it a babymoon. DD isn't coming, so I'll pamper myself while he is at the conference, sleep in, and hopefully get a nice dinner or three.

Oh! I guess this weekend counts. We went to Cape Cod right after my FET, but I found out on the transfer table that I wouldn't be able to swim or do anything fun. We're going back for a long weekend Friday. I guess this counts as a babymoon!

@AMShark I would check with your OB! I know cruises are strange about women going past 24-26 weeks and some airlines don't let women go past a certain # of weeks! With you being high risk I would def. ask! Even a b&b close to you would probably be enough for a night or two! I've read docs recommend travel 18-24 weeks! FX for an amazingly smooth pregnancy!

Owww...I REALLY want to!!  Brought it up to DH and he responded with something along the lines of 'don't you think we'll be spending enough money getting ready for the baby" ..... hoping to break him down!!! It's tough, because really the Caribbean is the only place that is warm enough, and when I suggested going to the mountains he reminded me how much he hates the cold :oP.

DH and I are going to Victoria BC next month for a week! Then possibly to visit family in Texas for Thanksgiving. It's been a while since we've had time off together, so this will be a nice treat!

We didn't do anything last time and I regret it. It would be so nice to have those memories. This time we will definitely did something special but it will be with DS too. We're thinking about Disney but haven't totally decided yet.

It wasn't intended as a baby moon, actually there were quite a few alcohol related stops planned, but DH and I will be driving (almost) cross-country in November. From Upstate NY (home) to visit my sister in Tuscon, AZ. We've been talking about doing this for a long time. We got the preliminary OK from the OB so the planning has begun. World's largest ball of twine anyone? Haha. Just hope DH can put up with a million pee breaks.

We'll go to Bermuda for our anniversary in November (we got married there); I'm thinking we'll do some professional pregnancy photos there while on the trip! We're also spending Christmas is Florida with both sets of our parents, which was planned long before we found out. Dj and I are both only children and this is our first, so having a pregnant Christmas with just both sets of our parents will be super sweet! I love the babymoon idea overall, whether the trip/getaway or just a staycation spa day or weekend.

No baby moon for 7s. But we do plan on taking DS to great wolf lodge for a couple nights right after Christmas

Hopefully we can take one. I want to escape Arizona for awhile. Maybe once we buy a car we can take a roadtrip to LA or fly out to Charlotte to see some friends for awhile. 

I could go to vegas, I will be finally old enough to gamble in November.

We travel a lot so I don't really consider it a baby moon but we are going to myrtle beach for Christmas and I can't wait!!

NYC for my birthday was already planned for the end of October. We live in Los Angeles so we shall see how the long flight goes. I've been pushing for another vacation to somewhere tropical but Hawaii is soooo expensive We will do something though. Lots of great ideas from everyone ! Last time I went to Mexico I was sick for 10 days so I think we will avoid that !

Hi my husband and I have had a trip to Scotland planned for a year and I am about 8 weeks pregnant now I guess that will be our babymoon!

I'd love to do one, but honestly, we probably can't afford one.  We might do a weekend away to Chicago or somewhere nearby.  The only available time we could go is winter break or spring break which is too close to my due date.

I just got back from Denver (planned when not pregnant) and at only 8 weeks I felt so debilitated. If I do end up baby mooning, will probably have to stick with somewhere completely tropical or resorty

My husband and I are on a "baby moon" right now!!! We just spent a few nights in London and now we're in Dublin. I love relaxing!!

DHs company is flying us to St. Marco's for the company Christmas party and we get a weekend out of it. So I think that'll be our babymoon!

Since we've been IF for 10 years, we go to NYC every Christmas. We're skipping this year just to save money. Hope you have fun, and if you have any questions, let me know!
