  • @keelyd‌ good luck with parent night. I had to do that Monday night and it was a brutal day so I feel you. I was at school from 8am to 9pm with pretty bad Braxton hicks all day. At one point I thought maybe I was going into labor...but when I got home and laid down they slowed. Hope all went smoothly with parents. I know it's just a whirlwind (we have 7 min class periods with parents it's nuts). Hopefully you are now home, or close, and can relax.

  • I'm so sorry you are going through all of that. :( How frustrating that it's so difficult to find a new therapist!   Anxiety can be impossible to get away from; give yourself credit for how far you have come though, and if there's a concern about PPD due to your anxiety, starting medication now may help keep that at bay..

  • I'd recommend no polish manis honestly.  During my last delivery, the hospital totally effed up my manicure with the monitor that goes on your fingers, and they also said that nail polish messes with the readings.  I was more thinking I didn't want to have gnarly disgusting man hands in photos with my new child, but apparently everything *wasn't* all about me.  Rude.
Ok, I read this at first as Polish manis. Like, Polish sausage. Not polish like nail polish. I was trying to figure out wtf a Polish manicure was. I'm going to sleep now... :|
Mmmmmm Polish sausage...right about now, I wouldn't mind a manicure made of that.  Mama's hungry.

I read in one of the threads recently that someone was playing some classical music on their lower belly to try to convince baby to turn. I figured it couldn't hurt anything so I decided to give it a try...

15 minutes of Mozart later and LO hadn't moved even to hiccup. So out of curiosity I turned on Florida Georgia Line (because it's my favorite) and he started kicking and punching up a storm!

Still seems to be sideways though :-w

ETA: DH asked what I was doing so I explained it to him. He actually told me that since we have plenty of headphones I can put these ones up my vaj... #-o

  • @SusieBW‌ I LOVE tomato sandwiches! I just toast the bread, add mayo, and sliced tomatoes. DH thinks it's strange. I haven't heard of many people eating that. So glad to see your post!

Lots of people where I live eat them. Especially garden fresh ones. Sadly I don't like raw tomatoes much. I can eat them on half of a sandwich and then I am over it and take them off the other half. But I love all other cooked tomatoe things.
  • Yeah polish does interfere with pulse oximetry, but I have gel nail polish. They will have a fun time getting this polish off!

This is what I had done today too! Both fingers and toes. Good luck getting it off.

  • @SPurp13‌ no, I thought maybe it was eminem too :( although I also thought...wow he's aged.
  • OMFG. The CEO of DH's company took all of the management out to dinner. DH and the GM carpooled. DH was driving the GM back to the building for his car and they noticed the building was on fire.

There are 8 firetrucks and firefighters on the roof and everything. I am both terrified of what this means for DH's job and amused at the irony of the ONE time all of the managers are out of the building at the same time and are WITH THE CEO that there is a fire in the building.
  • Umm...my own personal WTF Wednesday:
I just saw the creepiest commercial for a horror movie that's coming out on October featuring a little girl...the name of the movie is our front-runner for what we want to name our DD and I'm pissed! Annabelle! I still think it's beautiful but I'm annoyed that a scary movie with her name as a title will be out right before her birth.

That's our name :) luckily, I do not watch scary movies.

  • I was so happy today when I got to work, wich is odd but their feature desert was pumpkin pie!!! Of course that is what I got on my break ;)
  • I wish I was at home, but I'm at work.

Yay for money, but wah for not bring in my bed...
  • I don't care for pie and I don't like pumpkin. But I love ice cream! I must have had it way to much recently. I gained 5 lbs in 3 weeks... Oops! Doctor told me to lay off the frozen sweet stuff but with only 20 days till due date I'll think about it.

@Leysin97‌ -- Thanks. It actually ever up not being a bad day... long, but okay.

Made it home after school early enough for a short nap before my Dr appt. My Dr was a little over-chat before my exam and swab, despite knowing I was going to have to drive back to work, but Waze saved me and navigated me around traffic. Our parent night is almost as much of a whirlwind, 10 min classes. My long term sub was three, so it was nice to be able to introduce him to parents. Oh... and I had 5 moms in my last period tell me they definitely don't think I'm making it all the way until October.

Tonight is my open house. It sounds almost exactly like yours. Thank God I actually got some sleep last night bc yesterday was an absolute day from hell (personally not really professionally) and if I had to deal with parents I probably would not have come off in the best light. Here's hoping I don't have lightning crotch episodes as I meet parents tonight!!
