Honestly, a kitten is a little more work than a cat (All the cats I've ever adopted have been at least 5 months--my reasoning is that kittens get adopted from shelters SO QUICKLY, and I wanted to give the older ones a shot, plus, you kind of see personalities in older "kittens" better than the tiny ones.). A tiny bit. Hardly at all, really, it's mostly just that they want to PLAY ALL THE TIME, and they are small, so you have to make sure they don't get into things. If they are already litter trained, you're like. Mostly golden.

But. They will PROBABLY scratch the furniture until you teach them no. And sometimes always (I'm looking at you, Lola and Rosalita.). But even then, they have nail caps, and sprays and other solutions. Our two boys don't scratch at all. And we cut all of their nails once a week, so even if they would scratch, it doesn't do much.

In conclusion, you take at least one of these kittens home with you.

I love her, so I don't want to fight, and I want to just go with it, but this isn't fair. So now, I have to push it back a week (and I might have a baby before that), or go after work when I'm exhausted. I said we could maybe do it October 2nd, if I'm able to start maternity leave October 1st like I'd like to, but even so, I wanted it taken care of in September.

I've been super lazy this whole pregnancy with my hair. The last time I got it cut/ colored was literally the day we conceived! I'm not even against coloring during pregnancy. I just give zero fucks.

I do have a hair appointment this Friday and I'm super excited! My shower is Sunday so I'm happy that I'll look like a human again instead of Cousin It! If they tried to change my appointment I'd probably TP a bitch!

Lots of icks...plus I can barely navigate getting off the couch or outta bed.  I would lose any such fight, quickly.  And then cry in spilt whip cream.

Dropped my iPad mini and now there is a crack in it! I think it's about $200 to fix the screen and just can't justify spending money like that on non baby related items right now...grr. So bummed out though. I'm always on this thing. Hope that it won't affect the actual performance of the iPad..

It shouldn't, but be careful! My engineer at work cracked his and it ended up cutting his fingertip when he used it. Also, check groupon and see if there are any ipad repair coupons. He ended up getting his fixed for about $75.

Pity party: my therapist is on maternity leave and they haven't found someone new for me to see in the last two weeks. So I haven't seen anyone in over a month. I have had a panic attack every day for at least a week and a half including one episode where I actually blacked out.
I am so done with this and I just cry everyday wanting my body, mind and hormones back.
I may resort to getting a prescription even though I have held off so long. I am so mad that they can't find me someone, and I am going to have to take pills when I worked so hard not to!

I feel your pain, as I also have a cat hating DH!  Almost the same scenario happened when I was working, well before DD1, and he said no.  He claimed our dog would eat the cat poop and that would be gross, which I agree, but he really had no proof that that would actually happen!  Still, I looked into these expensive cat boxes that literally scooped the poop/pee right after the cat finished.  Still, no.  He claims he likes them, but I am pretty convinced he's just a cat hating meanie jerkface.  His achilles heel might be DDs, so I fully plan on one day getting them to ask him for one...or two.  :-$

My plan is to go home and ask DS if he wants a kitten.  If he asks daddy if we can get a cat, how can his daddy say no? I have been wanting a cat for a while now and I am willing to play dirty.  @SPurp13, the next step might just be to bring the kitten home.  What is he going to do then, kick the tiny thing out? I doubt it.

I am going to check with my MW on Thurs. I am going through a large hospital clinic that specializes in pre and post partum women's mental health. And it takes over a month to get on someone's schedule so I would hate to leave and want to come back...

@crawford411‌ I actually have no idea. I don't feel like it is an emergency - I am just frustrated that this seems endless. I need an end in sight I guess. 5 1/2 weeks feels endless of feeling like this.

Blacking out and daily panic attacks sound urgent to me.  IMO, I would take action in finding someone else asap.  I'm sorry you are going through this.

I have 3 cats. The gray longhair is my baby, the black shorthair never showed a preference for either of us, and the calico is DH's cat. Every night for the past week, she has been curling up next to my bump and staying there for hours. She has always been indifferent to me. She doesn't hate me, but she'd dodge my pets and just generally choose DH over me. So it's one of three things: she's lonely, I'm going to give birth soon, or the apocalypse is coming.

I took a nap and woke to these 3 snuggled up to my bump.    FI wants to keep 2 (they'd be cats 5 and 6...no) and wants me to name them.  I told him the only names appropriate for 2 new kittens joining us just as we have a baby are Chaos and Discord.  I was kidding, but he loves the names.

Well fuck me running.  The radio control on my work laptop is busted.  Which means I have to actually commute into the office to work to hook into the network instead of working remotely. Ok, so I already posted this morning but thought I would just share after my doctors appt. today. At my 37 week check-up I am 2.5cm dilated and 60% effaced. They told me if I had not gone by my appointment next week that we would talk about induction. So in preparation for her arrival and just because I wanted to I went and got a mani and pedi today and am going to get my hair done tomorrow. I feel the need to try and look and feel the best I can for her arrival.

I'd recommend no polish manis honestly.  During my last delivery, the hospital totally effed up my manicure with the monitor that goes on your fingers, and they also said that nail polish messes with the readings.  I was more thinking I didn't want to have gnarly disgusting man hands in photos with my new child, but apparently everything *wasn't* all about me.  Rude.

Yeah polish does interfere with pulse oximetry, but I have gel nail polish. They will have a fun time getting this polish off!
